Definitely sounds like it would take the fun factor up a few notches. My plan is to get the wheel in the next week or so, practice and hopefully see a marked improvement from where I am today, then see if there are leagues out there that may work for me.

Get racing as soon as possible, its ok if you suck. You can evey do races where you can't run into people, like a ghost race.

I feel like Ferrari strategy experts are in charge of my flight to Montreal.

I bet a lot of sim racers believe they would be good real race strategists. With all the money in F1 and all of the data that they gather over a weekend, I'm surprised how often a team will botch their strategy.

Has anyone tried one of these F1 manager games? I'm curious if I would have fun with it.

I played the one via app store for a while. I don't have much time for video games, but it was fun.

Are you flying Air Canada? There have been a ton of nightmare stories about Air Canada flights this week.

I'd take Air Anything right now.

Delta offered a sweet MSY-IAH-MIA-YUL that landed us early Saturday AM. Was hard to turn that down....think of the miles.

Right now the plan is to layover at LGA until tomorrow morning and an early flight into YUL.

Delta got fricked on their sky lounge today. Took them for a couple bills in bourbon.

Good call on the ghost races. Obvious goal is sim racing but I don't want to ruin anyone's fun running into them lol. I do ok 99% of the time but over a long race, I always have 1 or 2 frick ups.

Hopefully I'll see that improvement once I get the wheel, we shall see.

Another thing to explore is to go karting somewhere, be it indoor electric our outdoor gas. Even more fun if the carts are shifter karts.

Our BHM to LGA was delayed 2 1/2 hours. LGA to YUL was canceled. Ended up on a flight from LGA to YUL that was 8 hours late. Lucky to get on that one. Sat on the LGA runway for over an hour. Landed in a storm and are sitting on the runway waiting for the lightning to clear.

Then onto customs...lol

So F1 saves the environment by having less traffic?

I guess...

Our 8am LGA to YUL was cancelled just now.

So we may walk to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve

Not ready to use the Cajun card yet, but I feel it is on deck for what those frickers did to my ancestors 200 years ago.

I laughed too hard at this. Pretty sure it was the Brit’s though. But still, did not expect to see a reference to this in an f1 thread.

Definitely not ready for something like iRacing.

You are, you just don't know it. If you are even 10% serious, you're ready. You would not believe the shite that goes on in rookie races.

If it was me, I wouldn't waste any time on the F1 game. Get iracing and start learning on the best platform possible. Rookie Mazda MX5 cars are unbelievably fun.

Oh well, yeah, that could be a problem. You'll need a rig for sure to do it.

You get three ICE. Once you use up those three it's a 10 place grid penalty. Each subsequent ICE used is a 5 place grid penalty. There are allowances on other bits and pieces as well.

It's the new 4th turbo that is giving the 10 place penalty. Going forward it will just be 5 spots for further PU replacements over the limits. If I come across a chart chowing where all the teams are in regards to the allowed parts I'll post it.
