Thanks for clarifying.

Ferrari and turbos. I seem to remember that LeClerc had an insurmountable lead in a race in 2019 and his turbo blew. He still finished 2nd or 3rd in that race without a turbo at the end. That's how large his lead was before it blew.

You are, you just don't know it. If you are even 10% serious, you're ready. You would not believe the shite that goes on in rookie races.

You are gonna give me flashbacks to having to deal with the absolute morons in those races. I was having internet issues and getting disconnected from races and my irating was getting smoked and then I had to run with idiots. At one point I had a 300 ish irating, do you know how hard it is to get through a rookie Miata race with a bunch of 300-600 drivers. Like dodging bullets storming Normandy.

I am not telling you all nothing you do not know...but if you cannot get a flight to Montreal, fly to Burlington, VT and rent a car.

Much easier to go through customs that way and it is nice drive this time of year.

Yeah

That's why I just start from the pits and cruise for those. I still do them since I let my road slip all the way to C from having a few bad races and then quitting for months.

That is a view echoed by Red Bull team boss Christian Horner, who says "the easiest thing is to raise the car" but the teams most affected are reluctant to do so because of the effect it would have on performance. "Each team has a choice," Horner added. "If it were a genuine safety concern across the grid, it should be looked at, but if it's only affecting isolated teams then that's something that team should potentially deal with."

And Horner is 100% right, even though he can be an arse half the time…

That was our backup plan (also our original plan), but couldn't guarantee a rental car.

My son and I drove up yesterday from the DC area, arrived at our hotel and checked in. I haven’t seen him this excited for something in a while.

F1 is much politics as it is racing.

Big facts.

I think Saban would make a great F1 team principle

Of course he would... btw, does anyone else hate races in the Americas?

I prefer the early morning festivities rather than early afternoons.

Big time, one of the best parts of watching F1 and EPL is I'm done by mid-morning. Love sipping coffee and listening to european announcers.

Horner's task is to sell more in energy drinks than it costs to run the team. To do that, he has to win, and win by any means necessary (within the rules or in the grey areas). I think he's great. He may be a PoS sometimes, but he gets the job done and is at least fairly transparent in his actions. He also knows how to have fun.

The way he just gaslights the frick out of toto and Mercedes and Toto falls for it every time is fantastic.

You can tell Racey Spice has fun with it.

Toto comes across like a Bond villain.

I think it was one of the middle eastern races, Bahrain or Baku, ended up getting 3rd only because of a safety car after the Mercs passed him.

I wonder if there are any potential health problems for the drivers with that much bouncing. Can’t be great for the neck or maybe brain (although they do major neck muscle workouts).

I could work for Mercedes

Toto reminds me of a tall Nicky Lauda. Focused, but no humor.

Great point and the main reason I started getting into both. Life changes as you get older, and an 8AM sporting event starts looking better than one at 9PM
