If he's in the wrong they should penalize him, I have no problem with that.

The problem is that if it was illegal, they can't just penalize him after the fact. He would have signed an incorrect scorecard and he would have to be DQ'ed.

That's why nothing is going to happen...they are not going to DQ Tiger from the Masters over something that could be easily swept under the rug as a "gray area"

So if that happens, you have to move either right or left, depending on the line it took over the water, and drop from any distance behind the water?

People have stated it would be a two stroke penalty. Not a DQ.

Yea, or they'll put out some sort of statement saying they looked at it and confirmed it was legal. But that's likely to stir up debate, so they'll probably just not talk about it

It's going to be addressed in the morning by Augusta after the committee reviews it

You keep saying that, but you don't refute the point that he didn't keep the line where the ball last crossed the hazard margin between himself and the hole. You don't agree with that?

So y'all are saying it was illegal, but the officials didn't do or say anything about it, yeah, that makes sense.

The rules were explained during the telecast, it was perfectly legal

He didn't ask for a ruling. The rules officials aren't with you the entire time making sure everything you do is correct.

That's why stupid viewers call in all the time

And they wouldn't dare DQ Tiger for something they should have picked up on before Tiger signed his scorecard.

Its not up to them.

It's the line it was on when it last crossed the hazard margin. Most of the time, the ball comes up short and your line is the same line that you just hit from. But Tiger's shot crossed once, hit the flag and went off left of his line. So, I interpret the rule as though he should've kept the line between where the ball hit the stick and rolled back into the water if he wanted to move further back. It's perfectly legal to replay the shot, but he admitted he didn't do that.

Why? They didn't mind penalizing a 14 year old.

For the media:

Tiger > 14 year old

There will be accusations of racism if Tiger is punished. Book it.

I don't understand why people are upset about this. They warned him 4 times. People always talk how slow Tour players are. Watch them when they get on the clock. They play a little different and get back in position.

I'm not mad. I stated earlier in this thread I agreed with the unpopular, but correct decision.
