Here is the 2023 link if anyone is interested:

LINK

2024 Financial Goals
1) make more money than 2023 (sales)
2) net worth over $1.44 (20% growth)
3) closer to maxing out all retirement opportunities.

I also want to make sure our family is getting in quality time together as the kids leave the nest.
We had a great 2023 and I'm looking forward to 2024.

Try not to look at crypto prices more than 20 times a day, plus not read more than 20 crypto news articles a day.

I finish my student loan payments this year and then want to continue that "payment" plus a little more to the 529s. Start a Roth IRA for each of my kids. Won't max it out, but would like to get a couple of hundred in each account per month.

1. Continue to max out Roth accounts for the wife and I .

2. Pay off the car note this summer. It was a 4 year note, will be paid off in 3.

3. Consolidate wife's two old 401Ks, they've been sitting dormant for a while now.

4. Save between 15%-20% of our household pretax income in tax advantage accounts (came in at 18.92% last year and that doesn't include my pension).

5. Hoping to get another year out of my wife's Rav4, it's 11 years old with 165000 miles on it. Would be nice to get that thing to about 200,000 miles.

6. Hit $600,000 in net worth, maybe $650,000 if things go really well.

7. Just continue working, saving, and investing.

Not in order

1) maintain retirement contributions
2) re-evaluate retirement mixes for all portfolios (never look at wife’s)
3) re-invest excess above emergency fund from HYSA
4) start using EOB from health insurance to ensure I’m not being overcharged - big health spending year ahead
5) finish transferring Mint to Monarch

Potentials:
6) evaluate adding passive income stream
7) promotion

I like this… I’ll play.

1. Continue to max 401k
2. Continue ROTH’s for wife and I.
3. Continue 529 contributions for both kids
4. Allocate $$$ for a couple decent vacations
5. Look into getting PMI dropped from mortgage.
6. Figure out a way to lessen my tax burden as a normal W2 individual… (LLC of some sort)
7. Worry less about $$$ since items 1-3 are automatic and our bills are minimal.

Not necessarily a goal but wife’s car is 10 years old with 130k on the clock. Will inevitably have to replace in the near future.

I get hammered on taxes every year. Need to figure out some sort of write off so let me know what you figure out

1. Get better with saving money.
2. Dont’s blow money on stupid shite.
3. Max out my Roth.
4. Sell my home in Baton Rouge and put equity in high yield savings.
5. Learn to take profits off crypto investments.

Max out SEP.
This is a big maybe. I’m a builder. Build another house in same neighborhood, sell existing house. I have $320K equity. Last time I did this housing market crashed.
I’m skeered.
Expand Alabama division to match the Florida division.
Figure out how to reduce tax burden.

Company I work for does the Actuarial work on DB plans. So we handle the Valuations, Required year IRS forms, Plan Documents, and consulting on contributions. We generally set up Cash Balance Plans which are just easy to understand DB Plans. We do free proposals so if you are interested drop your contact info and I’ll shoot you an email.

1. Max out my Roth.
2. keep my 401k at 15% like now
3. add another 7-10k into my HYSA
4. pay off the little debt I still have. (6k on a personal loan@ 5% and that's really it)

I got divorced last year so I had to do work to my barn to make it livable until I build a house or remarry (girl I've been dating a year is throwing not subtle hints).
