re: Re-titling boat trailer - Jblac15
I was thinking the same thing. Or I could put the perm. plate from my utility trailer on it when going down the highway, just to keep from getting pulled over for nothing....

Re-titling boat trailer - Jblac15
Looking at a used boat. The seller has paperwork on everything except for the trailer. Has anyone here ever successfully re-titled a boat trailer, or would I be SOL if purchased?...
Do you have an issue with moths in your yard?
What do the moths indicate? My backyard is roughly 1/2 acre of grass and I have large brown patches similar to what OP posted. The area of my yard opposite of the brown patches has thousands of moths in it recently....

re: OB gearheads, cold air intakes - Jblac15
Cold air intake will growl a bit more, which will make you drive more aggressively to hear the growl, which will kill any “mpg gain” you were expecting. Also, the rule of thumb used to be cold air intakes were useless when paired with OEM exhaust. More air in requires more air out. For what ...

Matt Bowers - Lifetime Warranty - Jblac15
Anyone have any experience with this? Father in law is looking at a used truck at Matt Bowers and the listing says “Lifetime Warranty Included.” I’m sure it’s factored into the price, which is actually reasonable for the truck in this current market. What other fine print is involved? All servi...

re: Pause 401(k) to payoff rental? - Jblac15
Thank you all for the input. For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t be cutting my contributions to 0. I was thinking of doing the minimum that would still get me the employer match, somewhere in the 5% range....

re: Pause 401(k) to payoff rental? - Jblac15
I should have been more specific on our original plan with the rental. The whole idea was to keep until paid for, then use the rent $$$ to double-up on our current mortgage to pay off quickly. Or, if nothing else use the rent $$$ to make our regular mortgage payment, thus “eliminating” that bill fro...

Pause 401(k) to payoff rental? - Jblac15
Looking for some advice from the Pros. We have a rental with a fair amount of equity in it that cash flows + every month. I'll admit, we've only been renting it for around 16 months but it has been a positive experience thus far. We use a property management company which charges a small fee but ...

re: If I am a 23 year old with $5k in my bank account, what should I do with it? - Jblac15
Keep it in the bank to jumpstart emergency fund. Use it to pay down any student loans or small debts once he's settled into his next phase of life....

Remodel Costs - Jblac15
Trying to gauge average costs for a potential remodel on a rental home. I've googled but the the results varied by 300% on some items. I would self-perform all demo work required so the contractors for each craft would essentially be starting with a blank slate. Assuming mid-grade finishes on...

re: Mortgage 101: How are people affording downpayments for homes? - Jblac15
I believe my PMI on a $250k mtg is only $60/month. I'm not sure why everyone frets having PMI. This day and age I'd much rather have the 20% in the bank but to each his own....

re: Talk me out of buying a travel trailer - Jblac15
You could rent one to see if your family likes it before buying one. Most of my family had RVs growing up, so it’s something that has always stuck with me. My wife and 2 year old daughter love it, so we use ours often. If you do decide to buy, just understand that you’re going to lose a lot of m...

re: 5th Wheel or Class A Bus? - Jblac15
Didn't see where you mentioned having kids with you or not. If kids are involved I'd go with the 5'th wheel/Toy Hauler. The garage would be handy for bikes, fishing poles, kayaks, and all the other stuff they'll want to bring. You don't necessarily need a dually for a lot of them, a SRW 1Ton wi...

re: Buying new house before selling current one - Jblac15
We did this last year and ended up just keeping our other house and renting it out. Only needed 5% down for the new house. If you go this route you'll have to pay PMI until you reach 80% loan to value....
