The year has started off positively for me. I didn’t write down my goals but do want/need to. I feel like I am getting positioned well for continued financial success but need to do some house keeping.

Contribute $6,000 to Roth IRA ($500/month)
Open a Roth for my wife
Contribute $2,000 to HSA
Save $9,000 cash

Give away roughly $5,000

Sell half of AUPH above $40/share or sell all if buyout occurs.

Refill the emergency fund. Our home and furniture purchase has brought us way down.

Attempt to double the size of my Roth. It has already doubled since the beginning of the year, but want to double again.

Gain another 30% in the inherited iras that I manage for my kids and sister.

Have a solid year at work and hope for a big performance payment for 2022.

Pray my wife gets a raise

Roll over to the next digit in my net worth.
Pay down as much of my house as possible.
Hit it big a few of AT's stock picks.
Have BLSP make it to $1/share.

The first 2 are definite and achievable, the second 2 are hopes and dreams scenarios.

Made a $30,000 payment to student loans a week or two ago.

Funding a double bathroom renovation right now, but that was covered already from savings.

Should definitely hit our goal of $55,000 to deferred retirement accounts. Unless something crazy happens, we should fully fund both of our Roth IRAs in the next few months too.

Income is up 33% over january 2020 (based upon end of year bonuses paid out this january).

Net worth is 12% to my goal so far (47% ahead of schedule 1 month in)

I got some paperwork on a qualified CD that i will be transferring into my 401k and my wife just got a promotion at work so she will get her first 401k (which will serve as a home for an old annuity that she needs to get into the market). Im not ahead on this last goal, but there is progress. Hopefully it will be completed by end of 1st quarter.

Exceed my 2020 performance on realized gains..... already there. 2nd time newby last year and made some not too smart moves. The market head fake got me in June and tied my funds up until december. Found this forum during that time and did some major reading. I appreciate everyone's input here. Some stuff I've read that I initially dismissed I've come full circle on.

Be 100% debt free by end of August. Was there for 2 years but took out a $200k home equity line last April to buy a bunch of stocks at the market bottom. Plan to sell some of those in June to pay it off. I know the numbers with the low interest rate show this as a mistake but I sleep better at night not owing anything. Max out the Roth 401ks for me and wife with catch up contributions as we both hit 50 this year. Sell our lake house to add to our non-tax deferred accounts with the goal of getting those large enough to walk away from work at 53 with plenty to cover us until we start tapping into 401ks at 59 1/2.

I hit this around March/April.

2/3 of the way there. I took care of my wife's accounts. I have 1 old Lehman Bros retirement that i need to move over.

Im not sure if my goals were too conservative. Or if i hammered opportunity back in March and really rode the wave up. Probably more of the latter.

- Max 401k and get it to 400K. Shouldn't be a problem.
- Budget better.
- Try to stop wife with Stitch Fix and internet ordering.
- Keep my planned retirement for 55 years old.
- Payoff one of my vehicles.

Keep doing what I’ve been doing.

Max HSA
Max 401k
Max IRA

Those are the building blocks.

No consumer or student loan debt. Mortgage at 3% so no rush to pay that off.

Getting married so combining our finances is going to be an “objective” for the year. We’ve got a pretty good system right now but just need to combine and close some accounts eventually.

Accomplished for 2021 and basically the same goals for 2022. Wife will max 401K in 2022 as she was a little short in 2021. Already opened IRA for her so that gets funded for 2021 and 2022 in January.

Bigger financial planning goal is around risk management, namely insurance. Life insurance and LTD being the two critical ones. I’ve got umbrella insurance and combined auto coverage so checked those boxes. I need to create a will and make sure beneficiaries are all up to date.

Time to stomach the thousands in insurance that I’ll be paying every year going forward…not going to be cheap but it’s the right financial plan.

Damn. Hit all of these, except student loans. Didn't touch them due to not having to make payments.

2021 was great financially
