I’m definitely going to making some purchases of SPCX after the employee hold period ends.

Which makes zero sense as they beat expectations, by quite a bit

Spending is accelerating beyond expectations. The company continues to push out any real return to the 2030s, if its able to deliver. Increasing risk

Not if they bought/sold in a Roth or other Tax Deferred Account.
But assuming they did I would say paying 30% on a nice gain beats the hell out of sitting on a 50% loss.

and this is the valuation problem. and to the question of whether this is or should be a buy and hold i would ask this...if real returns (the kind of returns that would send this flying) are that far out, why on earth would you want to hold it between then and now? buy it later you wont be missing anything

this is not tesla where they were able to trade on market sentiment and real consumer enthusiasm.

But yeah, the people that sold at $220 are the retards

I bought in just above IPO price and sold around $205. It was always going to shoot up on hype then go back down. I've been buying all the way down and will continue to do so.

And why exactly would buying begin next week?
Just because you want it to?

it’s a fair question
I don’t think real sustained buying happens until after the new year then it will probably go vertical. Y’all be patient

Of course, these are the accounts you want to day trade in. The accounts you should not access for decades down the road

Dang Norway, you are relentless. We remember how you perfectly timed the ups and downs of NVDA as well for daily gains. You are probably the best investor here

Norway alter confirmed

NVDA has increased 58% from when you predicted it's crash in 2024. Good call.

if it is Norway, I think you are being disingenuous. You are attacking the messenger and not the message.

Norways bullshite was coming on here and claiming to win every day trade at the absolute max profit, after it had happened. Annoying but not definitively false.

This is about the very real headwinds buying SPCX has until the lockup expiration passes, and the very real valuation issue even at current prices. Very real defined risk.

You have it backwards.
A Roth is the perfect place to day trade because there are no tax implications, ever.
You can lock in gains on a daily, weekly basis without facing tax implications.
An out of pocket account is where you buy and hold so that you end up paying Capital Gains Tax on those gains.

I don't know why I even bother to respond to you, or to help you.
You don't seem interested in an intelligent/honest exchange of ideas.
Every post you make is to attack people out of jealousy & pettiness,
You're even stalking/attacking me on the OT Lounge Board like a weirdo.

Exactly,
I've never understood people that get mad at you for being right.

bloomberg:

Large institutional investors were apparently spooked on Tuesday evening after SpaceX (SPCX) said it had booked second-quarter capital expenditures of more than $18 billion, nearly 40% higher than what analysts had modeled. Most of that money is going toward building data centers and other artificial-intelligence-related expenses.

But smaller individual players chose to focus on the positives. As a result, buying in SpaceX shares by the retail cohort looked particularly aggressive during the first hour of trading on Wednesday, according to Vanda Research data - even as the stock plunged.

On a net basis, individual investors bought $22 million of SpaceX shares during the first hour of trading - ranking third out of 37 opening sessions to date, and more than three times the average initial 60-minute net flow, the Vanda team said.

Buy the company, not the stock price.

I think we'll probably see SpaceX become a $5 to $10 trillion company within our lifetimes. Once Starship is fully operational, it could potentially move as much mass to orbit in a single year as humanity has launched in total since the beginning of the space age.

Starlink and launch contracts are important, but I view them as the foundation. They're generating the cash flow needed to build what comes next.

If SpaceX can establish a permanent presence on the Moon and begin producing fuel, oxygen, and eventually mining resources such as helium-3, the opportunity becomes much larger than rockets and internet service. At that point, we're talking about the infrastructure needed to support an entirely new space economy.

And if they successfully build a self-sustaining settlement on Mars, the conversation changes completely. You're no longer valuing a launch company or even a telecom company. You're valuing the transportation, communications, energy, and logistics backbone of humanity's expansion beyond Earth.

Everyone is welcome to follow Norway's impeccable market timing. As for me, I'm just continuing to add on the dips.

Your SPCX is down another 13% today.
Down over 50% from its high just a few months ago.
Don't attack me because you're bad at investing.
