Gotcha. So the share price would tank I assume?
It would flood the market but if they're issued at a super high price those shorting the stock could potentially still take a bath (it would depend what price they shorted at). Also, how the hell would you even price the issuance?

Dear Gamestop: this is only a "suggestion"
secondary level
Gamestop has to sell tons of stock to hedge funds who specifically said Gamestop is about to die, so they'll own a chunk of that company

The secondary offering keeps coming up, but what institution will underwrite the offering? They essentially purchase all the shares and turn around and sell. With GME’s volatility, they could lose their arse before liquidating to the market. Nobody is taking on that risk.

good point, but they limited volatility Fri by allowing small blocks of buys to go through; after the early morning pump, GME traded in the $300-330 range for the most part.
i also wouldnt be surprised if other brokers start doing what RH did and limited buying of GME shares

For a while I thought since Melvin couldn't shutdown wsb they shutdown TD instead.

I don't quite know what to make of the S3partners reversal.
This morning they tweet that Short interest has not changed much and the shorts haven't really started covering in a significant way.
5 hours later they tweet BREAKING NEWS: Over 30 million short shares have been covered.
On one hand I don't think they'd tank their rep on a complete fabrication. On the other hand CNBC ran with the story that Melvin closed out their short position on wednesday, yet we continue to get new stories about how much melvin continues to lose on their short position.
Basically who the frick knows at this point lmao.

Did you watch the documentary called "Planet Lockdown"? There was a lady that essentially said everything we're facing now is a function of a new monetary system the elite are trying to introduce. I'll reserve the rest of my thoughts on this for the poli board.

I'm debating about getting in for 1k if there is a dip after open. Same with AMC.
Can't decide between doing that and hoping for fat short term gains or drop in into AT's picks and have a much slower but safer ride. Decisions, decisions.

I do not think that's a reasonable play at all brother but let us know how it goes
I have traded equities for 25 years.
I have never shorted a stock because the downside is more than all of my money.
That being said, people who do short selling are looking for overextended stocks.
GME has some enterprise value based on assets, sales, earnings, etc. that value is very likely to be less than $25 per share. The move has been made. If you are in it to make money, exiting soon would be prudent. If you are in it for entertainment purposes, enjoy the show.
I guess GME could go higher, but the path of least resistance after this huge run up is lower. Reversion to the mean is real. You’ve won. Make sure you collect your winnings.
It was dumb for hedge funds to short at $5. It is dumb to buy at $350.
Good luck to everybody, but cash out some winnings soon.

Whoo. I thought a headgefund bought TD and shut it down because of this thread.
Posted on 2/1/21 at 7:08 am to jrodLSUke
If that happened, the WSB crew may have made Chicken tendies.

It's too late for most of the people screaming hold on wsb. Good luck to them though, I hope my girlfriends husband makes it to Mars.

MSM is trying push peeps of GME. No, it is time to crush these mfers.
Posted on 2/1/21 at 7:50 am to MisterWorldwide
Crazy shite going on. GME keeps falling off of my Marketwatch watchlist (where I keep up with all of my holdings across different platforms). I've had to add it back a few times already.

Man this thing is just fixed at 320 right now. The Messican standoff continues.
