I’ve been slowly amassing some positions in RIVN. Feels like a company that has been beat down by interest rates like the rest of the industry. But they are making some interesting moves to increase production by bringing new plants online and building the motors in house now. They are also following the Tesla model of a more affordable model. Feels like $15 should really be the floor and that this stock should be around $25. Thoughts?

Also not the best reason to buy a stock but they are popping up every where around Northwest Arkansas and they make a really nice vehicle.

Friend,

It looked good two years ago, but I ended up catching a falling knife. It was one of the larger investment losses of my life. I still hold a small position and hope it can return to the three figures one day.

Yours,

TulaneLSU,

I wouldn't have taken you for a speculator. I guess we all have our vices.

I’ve been spending a lot of time in central OR and Wayne outside Philly, and I am seeing them everywhere. After a bit of research, they have been hampered by interest rates as well as production. They are catching up on back orders. Seeing their product is impressive. Just began opening a position yesterday. I’m an owner not a trader so this is a big deal for me lol.

Why buy RIVN when you can buy TSLA?

I hear you it IPOd at a ridiculous price riding the Tesla hype. But I really think they have a legit operation going and there is demand for their vehicles. I wouldn’t recommend my dad to buy the stock but for someone who has time to let a company grow out of the burning cash stage it could be a nice investment. TSLA took a decade before they started making a profit and Amazon even longer.

The questions I have are what's the growth potential for the truck and how will competition affect sales of the RS1 SUV, which should be the bigger growth opportunity.

The Kia EV9 will be a direct competitor and has a package with superior range, although with much worse acceleration, to the RS1 base model and it's $19,000 cheaper. Their higher horsepower model is still $14,000 cheaper to the RS1 base with about the same range.

Plus Hyundai has a 3 row SUV about to launch that should be cheaper and Ford and Chevy will have new EV SUV's as well near-term.

I’m with you on the competition and what that will look like by the time the R2s get here in 2026. But I still view as the same way people buy an Escalade vs a Honda Pacifica. Yeah there are cheaper options but the Rivian is a cooler vehicle

I've been paying attention to them for about a year. Saw a few from St. Augustine to Jax Beach and didn't know much about them. I think they have done a good job of marketing without all all the Musk bravado (I'm a Musk fan so its a complement) and it makes me think they have competent leadership around them.

Definitely considering it.

Well considering they are losing their arse right now with every car they sell, I wouldn’t touch it at the current price

Honest question as I don’t know, what does RIVN offer over TSLA?

They are just so damn ugly.

So is the Tesla truck by the way. But the Rivians are atrocious
