I haven't a clue. I look at my investments about twice a month, which is too often. Why are you looking at daily changes?

That’s too broad of a statement. If someone has a diversified portfolio, say 60/40 stock/bond, you’ll take a lesser hit. Someone at 40 might have a 90/10 mix, someone at 60 might be 50/50, so a 2.5% decline is quite possible.

That was an odd cheap shot at McDonald’s. I’ve never owned it but the chart and dividend look quite nice.

I hope so, its hard to see an approximate 15% down turn from where we were just a short while ago.

4/3/25 down 3.1%
4/4/25 down 4.4% so far today. I'm about ready to transfer some money into the trading account and slowly start buying.

This in my trading account. Not looking at my IRA. I did my quarterly IRA review on 3/31/25 and was pleased to see I was down less than 1% from the end of 2024.

I’m scared to look but did approve 50K buy in small cap index yesterday and 30K today.

Guess I’ll buy on the ride down and see where are in a year.

I figured out that if I just keep transferring money from my checking accounts to my trading accounts the balance doesn’t really drop nearly as far.

I’m down 6% in one account and 5% in another. I haven’t looked at mutual fund accounts because I don’t do anything with them.
Ironically my biggest losses today are BRK B and two utilities: $D and XEL.
Not sure how they’re tariff related. All three were pretty much fine yesterday. Them being down is certainly some sort of recession scare and/or people just pulling money out of stocks.
I’ll be adding to those positions in small amounts as they fall.

We were all liberated from the burden of paying capital gains taxes next year.

The best- and worst-performing days of the stock market often occur in close succession, making it difficult to time when to sell or buy. Investors who have stayed the course during downturns have been able to take advantage of market recoveries and have typically come out ahead of those who moved to the sidelines.

Down 400k since the tariff talk began. I could puke. Hoping I can turn this into a long term positive DCA into this dip.

It will rebound eventually. If it never rebounds, that will mean that our society as we know it has basically ended and you'll have much bigger things to worry about than stonks and bonks.
