Debated and started with 10k. If it works great. Don’t see it going to 0. If it does the other hedges I have should pay off.

I have a little bit of money in Ethereum and Bitcoin, both of which are down. Would you move out of Ethereum completely and all into Bitcoin? I would like to at least get back to even at some point.

shite im still holding everything because I hate myself and money. I hate IOTA more than all of it though. Just hoping to wake up one day in 2020+ and check my account and see its worth $2.00 so I can ditch it
Posted on 8/15/18 at 12:17 pm to RATeamWannabe
Just curious, why do you hate IOTA more than the rest?
Posted on 8/15/18 at 12:21 pm to Douglas Quaid
just personal, it was the coin that taught me FOMO

Keep holding it. You may wake up in 2020+ and find it to be worth much more than $2.

It doesn’t matter how much it’s worth now compared to when it was purchased. All that matters is what is the best option for that value right now going forward.
It’s the disposition effect (unnecessarily sell gains; unnecessarily hold losses). It’s a flaw in decision-making that we probably are all inclined to make; however, I feel like it’s extreme in the crypto investing due to the volatility (it can happen again; trying to time things), the relative limited information to guide decision making, and the fact that it seems to be more attractive to younger, less experienced investors than traditional investment options.

Looks like you already answered your own question.
Within the crypto-sphere I believe IOTA to be the most promising option. As with anything and everything, that is only one opinion and one that can certainly be wrong. Time will tell.

Rehadless of one’s optimism, the problem is that, there is no good way to separate the broader technology from the currency, nor a good way to judge the companies making the technology. It would be like investing in a tech company but buying some new technology that is still hard to truly measure its value and also not being able to see which company is doing a better job as a company itself in addition to the technology.
We can look at Apple and see they rarely if ever create the absolute best technology or create it first, but they do it all well enough and do all the important business stuff well too.
