I buy 6 months out to keep for a while, hence my accumulation of Nov calls at $70
Sooner is waaaay more volatile, so I just judge how the stock is going and usually buy a few different call dates that include some soon events that effect the stock (CPI and CRWV earnings today) and some a month or so out to limit the loss if shite happens
I only buy outside the money on short term, but build my long terms at existing prices, even if they might have already got in the money (like those $70 calls for Nov)
Could you link a good youtube video to explain this? As happy as I am that the 500 dollars I put in back in February and March is now valued at ~1200 I'd like to learn more.

Can’t really recommend a YouTube, as this is just my personal opinion on how I invest in options with NBIS and typically other high upside growth stocks.
I would recommend getting yourself very educated on options before playing heavy. As much as we have succeeded with NBIS, you can lose it very quickly.

I was on the ugly side of it in the spring, and it can happen quickly.
Thankfully, I've recovered and then some.

WOW!
I love your courage!
And the fact that you're willing to share your experience with us.
I have some similar trades, at a much much lower stake. Building experience.

I think he's playing with "house money" from the last couple of weeks...
ETA: It looks like NBIS is already pumping up for tomorrow. We may see 8 Es, sooner, rather than later...

Haven't had that many actual shares since March, when I moved everything to options in order to get out of a serious downturn (it worked).

FROM FEBRUARY
Jefforize has always been a bit cautious, but this thread from reddit was always ridiculous.
some interesting NBIS DD on wsb frontpage

Final Verdict: If You’re Buying at $45+, You Better Believe in Magic
Nebius is not cheap. At $45, it’s already pricing in hypergrowth, flawless execution, and Nvidia’s continued blessing.
The Big Question: Do You Trust These Guys to Pull It Off?
If you think Volozh and his team are mad geniuses who will stop at nothing to get rich, buy it.
If you think AWS, Azure, and CoreWeave will crush them like a bug, stay away.
At $25-$30 per share, Nebius would be a high-risk, high-reward AI bet. At $45+ per share, it’s degenerate gambling.
They have potential, but so did a thousand other cloud startups before them. If you’re buying at these levels, you better believe in destiny, vengeance, and the raw power of resentment-fueled innovation.

That’s Gold!
Okay….its go time. CRWV can do whatever they want with their BS padded “earnings” but PLEASE give guidance we want about the market.
NBIS goes up 10% with badass news on guidance….get your options

im still in and havent sold. and that $45 did turn into $18.31 within 45 days of the post you spotlighted
obviously that drawdown had nothing to do with NBIS and was pure macro (liberation day, tariffs, trump tweets etc)
Anyways, once i started using NBIS i became fully on board. renting a 8 h200 blackwell cluster for ~40/hour is pretty awesome if you can CLI efficiently in a shell (thanks chatgpt
So, im not "really" worried, just joking about the sudden spike in call option interest on a stock that has 4x'd in 4 months.

Knew it. CRWV just throwing money at their problems and plans, not innovating
NBIS might take a small dip from all the investors who had the sector or equivalent, but I’m expecting really good things tomorrow morning for NBIS
ETA: not knocking CRWV. They will be extremely successful in this market and long term play. They just ballooned too quick. After looking at the numbers and guidance, they might do well with stock, once people digest what they are saying. Con call shortly
NBIS bleeding on the news, hold fast

CRWV getting wrecked AH and taking NBIS on a ride with them. Thanks, chuds

In your defense, I tried to copy one of the call strategies IT_Dawg posted and Schwab shut me down saying my account isn't cleared for those types of trades...On the other side of the coin, this is the first time in stock market history that we can ask chatGPT a prompt to show strategies to buy options, and that combined with the huge daily gains would make any sane person that already has a foot in the door hungry for more.

you (and anyone else interested) should be able to get approved for option trading on your brokerage, you likely just have to fill out a form saying you are experienced with high risk derivatives and are ok with losing your capital rapidly
Posted on 8/12/25 at 3:39 pm to MrBobDobalina
For all the one’s asking about options y’all should check out trading view paper trading. Create an account and start with $100k Monopoly money to trade with. You can make fake trades using real time market data. I just started trying my hand at options there the last week or so. Might be better to learn there than gambling with real dollars, is for me at least
