Be patient. They'll be delivering trucks in September.

So why is this crashing exactly? The short position?

Yea i bought the dip, but i was in a bit high already so i used it to average down. I have a friend who sold out for a small profit. Theres a few ways you could play it. All how you see it.

I bought this when it was near its high (around 29ish), and watched it plummet this morning and bought a more shares when it was a little over 14 to avg down my cost. Looking at where it's traded over the past several months, 14 seemed like an OK assumed floor for the time being. I mean, hell, if NKLA can still trade in the teens, this thing can't be totally fricked.

The short report is definitely a bummer, though. Wouldn't blame anyone for cutting it loose.

Sounds like The Dale Car Fiasco all over again.

The Lady and The Dale

ETA: An interesting footnote to that story is that Tucker Carlson's father was an LA area reporter who began to ask the questions that broke the scam down.

I've been through this recently with this Hindenburg short report nonsense with SOS. Bought in the 6.70ish range when it was running, they released a short report, the stock plummeted to the low 4s, it found resistance, I bought the dip there, and then exited with a small profit when the stock bounced back a few days later. I am betting that the reaction to this report will be overblown and that this isn't going to bankrupt RIDE any time soon. Some big players behind RIDE and as mentioned NKLA is still duking it out in the 17 range.

if i were in this at 29 as you said you were, i'd not be concerned about averaging down your overall cost basis. treat each lot of shares as a separate trade...as soon as you realize good profit on the 14's, make a sell decision on that lot.

the 29's might be a lost cause, but who knows

This is probably a better way of thinking about it. No need to combine a losing/lost trade with a potentially winning one. Thanks, man, good advice.

And I should probably just hold these shares @ 29 as a reminder not to dive into stocks based off the recommendation of some random dude on a hot streak on a message board.

CNBC talking about the SEC request for info based on the Hindenburg research report saying that the company overstated those preorders, which lead to the drop today. This thing is turning out to be a steaming fricking pile.

One of the main contributors saying she's surprised it's not lower. Sigh.

Lordstown Motors Inc. reported a wider quarterly loss late Wednesday, reiterating its goal of making its first electric pickups by late September despite an ongoing spat with a short seller. Lordstown stock (RIDE) fell nearly 2% in the extended session immediately after the quarterly results. Losses intensified after the company disclosed a probe by securities regulators. The stock was down more than 4% at last check. In a call with analysts after results, the company said it had received a request for information from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and that it is cooperating with regulators. The company also said that its board has formed a committee to "review these matters." It declined to elaborate further and said it would not comment "until the special committee has finished its review." The Ohio-based electric-truck maker reported a net loss of $38.2 million, or 23 cents a share, in the fourth quarter, compared with a net loss of $7.1 million, or 10 cents a share, in the year-ago quarter. Analysts polled by FactSet expected the company to report a GAAP loss of 10 cents a share. Lordstown has no revenue.

They had their earning call today. No revenue obviously, but they stated they are still on track for sept rollout of the trucks.

The beta builds are being produced now for safety tests and things like that.

I don't know what or who to believe anymore tbh.

I am still curious about their entry into the Baja race next month to see how that truck performs.

Tune in to CNBC tomorrow morning at 7:20am central to see the interview with the CEO. Should be interesting. I don't think he'll be commenting on the Hindenberg report as that was discussed on the earnings call today.

I'm holding strong on this one at least until September (or Q4 this year) so I can see some vehicles produced and sold. No point in bailing now.
