Just buy em from the Chinese. You get all the features for sub 30

If I could get a 2019 Landcruiser/Lexus LX with the old spec new I probably would.

Which is why we have to keep all their stuff out of our markets until we fix our stupid rules and terrible powertrains or our manufacturing base will disappear within a decade.

Your liberal takes are not holding any water these days. Did you see the most recent inflation numbers? They’re not spiraling out of control due to tariffs as people like you would have us believe.

I disagree with everything you just posted.

The government mandates bad tech people we don’t want and the manufacturers rush it out before it works and force people to finance it for 84 months by which point it no longer even works and they’re broke from paying for it.

Not wanting advanced tech on a vehicle that offers safety comfort and ease of use is asinine and you’re part of the problem

Is less or more competition needed?

According to the former conservatives known as MAGA, less is necessary, apparently.

I don’t want FedGov putting cameras into my car to continually scan my face and shutdown my car at their whim.

The fact that you do says volumes about you.

Do you realize that Henry ford only paid his guys 5 bucks a day?

It is helpful to put the proper context around this question....

The average wage for a worker before Henry Ford's wage increase in 1914 was $2.34 for a nine-hour shift. Ford raised this to $5.00 for an eight-hour shift, nearly doubling the workers' pay.

Over double the ages for a days work...and with 1 hour less in the work day.

Like I said, your answer displays a chilling lack of knowledge about the world. Sit this one out.

Every production vehicle in the US will be required to do so by law starting in 2027.
quote:

Section 24220 of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA, 2021) requires the NHTSA to issue a new Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard for “advanced drunk and impaired driving prevention technology” in all new passenger motor vehicles.
The technology must:
• Passively monitor the driver’s performance (e.g., eye movement, head position, steering behavior, lane position) to detect impairment.
• Prevent or limit vehicle operation (e.g., warnings, speed limiting, or ignition disable) if impairment is detected.
• Ideally also detect blood alcohol concentration (BAC) at or above the legal limit (0.08 g/dL) passively.

The law originally set a deadline for NHTSA to finalize the rule by late 2024, aiming for new vehicles around model year 2027.
