I know, I own a Y. What I can say is that their mid size suv is way better than the Y. Also the new Y had very small improvements

I am envious at how less expensive other vehicle markets are.

We could have cheaper cars, we just need to remove all the tech garbage and EPA regs that make them so expensive.

Put a Honda engine from 1998 into an accord that gets 35mpg, remove half the computers that are apparently going to scan our faces starting next year for big government and the costs will plummet and the vehicles will run for 200k miles again.

Between retooling factories on the front end, and subsidizing purchases on the back end, its impossible to criticize "subsidies" of other countries and not our own.

Obama White House

Subsidies are the death of free markets and youre correct. Subsidies should be lambasted across the board by conservatives. They generally are which is why they are mainly a tool of the left.

Tariffs are a stimulus too, its just the consumer paying.

Correct. If other countries lower theirs on us, we should eliminate ours.

Why do we care if they are paid slave wages or not if we the consumer benefit

Also why do we care if their govt subsidizes if we aren’t the ones taxed

If you cannot see the implications of slave wages and foreign government subsidies, then you do not belong in this conversation.

I thought it was cool how China put all their Uyghurs in prison camps.

Former US President Donald Trump doubled down on his past admiration for Chinese President Xi Jinping, sparking fresh discussions about his relationships with global leaders.
Speaking to a crowd, Trump reflected on his rapport with the Chinese leader, saying, “I don't think they like me, but I like them and we actually had a very good relationship. President Xi, myself. Somebody said, what kind of a man is he? He's a fierce person. He's a very smart guy.”
Trump didn't stop there, going on to describe Xi as “brilliant” and lauding his leadership over China’s 1.4 billion citizens.
“He rules with an iron fist. Press gets upset when I say he's a smart man. The real enemies are enemies from within,” he added.

Are you referring to China? I spent months in China, outside the cities, people are farming by hand in the interchange loops. Villages in the rural areas had houses with cloth doors.

America is the most advanced country on earth by far.

He’s got some kind of financial tie to China. He was melting about the tariffs last spring and urging people to withdraw retirement money. He was also complaining about the prices on his temu purchases.

Are Chinese electric cars reliable? Here’s what new data says

quote:

The report captured data from almost 10,000 EV and PHEV owners across 81 cities in China, recording any problems they experienced within the first two to six months of ownership.

Based on the data, the average was 210 problems per 100 (PP100) vehicles, a "significant" increase of 37 problems per 100 (PP100) vehicles compared to 2023.

No fricking thanks.
