And most doctors make around 100k which include pediatricians, er doctors, GP. Mostly you need a specialty as a doctor to clear 300k.
I don’t think that’s accurate at all!

I'm not a doctor but there's no way you're right

We have a marketing business. Owning your own business can definitely get you there.
At my former company, you were way up the food chain if you were making $300K.

Met plenty of doctors and lawyers that regretted their profession choice because of stress, workload, time away from family, etc. I’ve met a lot of insurance agents through the years and never had one tell me they regretted it. Once established, it has to be one of the highest paying low stress gigs around. I am jealous every Tuesday early afternoon when one of my insurance buddies texts me asking to come the bar at some restaurant in 20 minutes to start drinking. And when another buddy calls me on a Wednesday wanting to know if I am ready to go duck hunting for the rest of the week
Once you establish a core base in insurance, it seems that they set it on auto-pilot and get new clients from current clients. The challenge is getting that core.

Watch a clip from a podcast last week and the “expert” was saying most millionaires make their money in real estate and almost all billionaires make their money being entrepreneurs. Get your first business established, then hire someone to replace you. Then buy your next company, and repeat. By your 5th business, you’ll be making serious money.

Commercial Real Estate Broker here. I specialize in multi-family properties and hotels.
It took about two years to ramp up but 300k is very doable.

Lol wut
Most primary care specialties make ~200,000 base and it goes up and up from there. Surgical subspecialties all do over $500,000 with ease in most markets.

Sales and insurance, I can't stand real-estate but that is the other way without starting your own thing.
If I had known what I know now I would have definitely done commercial insurance or sales.

Been in sales for 20 years now and it's crazy the amount of money top producers earn. It is stressful though, but I am a able to retire early so it was worth it to me.

I think people would be very surprised how much top commercial brokers make, even in Louisiana. In large markets, top brokers are making pro athlete money.

$300k+ is typically achievable with tenure and seniority. I am at a F300 company. I am at 100k with 1 year at the company. My Manager is at 160 with 3 years at the company, my VP is likely at 250-300k with around 8 years with the company.

Honestly a lot of the people I know who do the best own companies (like construction or manufacturing) or own a lot of different interests.
I will say in big cities there are a lot of high level jobs with companies that pay more than that amount. Just not many in small towns.

My mom used to work in payroll for a pharmaceutical company and what the top sales people were earning was well above that

That is laughably inaccurate

Same here. I don’t know why but I’ve grown to loathe this industry over the last few years. I used to love it.
What have you found outside of engineering?

Plant operators are not making 300k+. I know multiple Level 4 and 5 operators at area plants and they are bringing in some money, but not 300k. Maybe the leads and plant managers, but not the operators themselves.
