Something sounds fishy for sure. It’s either you or him. Can’t tell based on the info.
One thing I’d point out is most of you were really close based on return/allocation. What’s your allocation?

I just punched out a quick Excel sheet to do the annoying math for me, so I figured I would post the actual return instead of an estimate:
VTSAX 5.18%
VWIGX 7.79%
AGTHX 10.17%
For a calculated total return of 7.7% YTD.

I checked a couple of weeks ago and I was at 10.21%. One of my finds has a heavier weighting one FAANG stocks which has outperformed the market.

I am pleased that my 4 IRAs are returning a positive 2.26% YTD.
The 401 K is still in the bucket but it is in a S & P Index fund for 100% and it is in a position to continue to recover.

I know that my happiness seems paradoxical but my 401K YTD return got back to zero after yesterday's market close. I moved 100% to a Fidelity S & P 500 index fund within the plan at the end of February and it dropped like a rock a few days later. Individual IRA's are + 3.87% YTD.
Given that the value of he index fund of well off historical highs and a recession is unlikely I should catch up to a handsome return at by the end of the year albeit not as well as most of you that have diversified.
