Yep...same every year...no fundamentals of the game: no block outs, no stopping the ball , and no closing out def on 3 pointers

It hasn’t been good. Statistically, Jones last year was one of the worst in the history of the program.
We still cannot keep a ball handler in front of us. Leads to open kick outs, etc. then we go under or switch ball screens leading to open looks.
I’m a huge fan of Wade but we are a lazy defensive team.

It’s not idiotic to point out that they have picked up EXACTLY where they left of last season with absolutely terrible defense. For the HC to discuss over and over about the emphasis on defense in the offseason and to come out and look every bit as shitty as last season is very disappointing

Same issue with 3 pt shot defense. Lost a 22 pt lead first half. Lii ooooh st a 15 pt lead second half. But, with a few good defensive stands here we should win. It’s creepy that SIUE is only behind by 2.

Bright spot, Jalen Cook.
He did a good job of coming in and stopping dribble penetration. He may see the floor a lot simply because he can guard the ball.
Smart still struggles big time guarding the ball.

Manning and leblanc are 2 of the best defensive guys on the team, id wait till we see the team completely before passing judgement. Its game 1.

Really, people say wait till we have those 2 specific players back before passing judgement?
We also are running things completely different defensively this year if you paid attention at all this game vs. Previous years. Which you probably had no clue about i assume. Those 2 players are going to be key in the scheme.
Chill out, its game 1, and wades defense hasn't been bad every year hes been here, either. Some people have no clue what they're talking about.

Look at the ignoramus posting above you talking about how bad things are every year since Wade arrived lol. He’s had the best start of any Basketball coach I’m LSU history and already has an SEC title to his credit and a 2nd place finish after inheriting the worst record in school history. So this silly narrative you fools are pushing about how things never get better under Wade is pure delusional ignorance.
