You guys who think LSU getting “outbid” for a recruit is Kelly’s fault are really funny!

There is a finite amount of resources at every school. The head coach has very little to do with the total amount of money available. He can choose to allocate a percentage of this total to different players or positions, but the that comes at the cost of losing money at another position. It is not Kelly’s fault when other schools with much bigger pools of money come in a take a recruit by paying more. LSU just can’t compete monetarily against some of the more rich schools when those schools are dead set on a recruit.

Whatever hold BK has over some of you is legendary.
I haven't seen any other LSU coach get this kind of knighting other than Will Wade.

Which former LSU coach had another school pay his top recruit $12M?

There are some guys you can’t afford to lose.
Philips ain’t it, but Pickett & Berry are.
I know those 2 had money thrown their way, but they are solid

If the team didn't look like a poorly coached mess all season, then people would give more money for NIL.

This board is loaded with tards who listen to fairies.
Those who throw the most money around will get the highest rated recruits, period.

NIL wasn't around with former LSU football coaches
It started during Orgeron's last year and has morphed into a completely different monster now

I have bigger problems with BK that don't involve recruiting. It's his job to allocate money in order to put together the best possible team. He obviously did a bad job of that this past year. Now he is flipping his philosophy. We'll see how well that works. Auburn currently has the #5 ranked class right now btw. I'm not sure how our money compares to theirs though. We have dropped from #1 to #9 over the past few weeks.

He started this job with NIL and pay for play starting. Get used to this, and every fanbase will bitch about the same thing.

The Rant blames BK and Nuss for everything from it being hot in August to it cold in December. They think BK should use his own money, even though they would never do this if they were HC.

BK being the HC is in charge of raising funds from donors so yes the fault that LSU is being outbid for some of these kids does fall on his feet.

Outbid for recruits isn't BK's fault, but also isn't really the problem.
Losing to 6-6 USC, 7-5 UF and blowing a 10 point 2nd half lead at A&M are. If 2 of those things don't happen, LSU would be in the playoff. Not huge asks either.
LSU will still recruit at a high enough level to stay competitive. Is the coach good enough to keep the program competitive? That's the question.

Louisiana isn't that broke. We are paying 100M for a coach.
Seems pretty freaking ez to me. Get a 5M dollar coach and get better cruits if your 10M coach can't make his pay worth it.
That's the bottom line. If he can't deliver results with his pay, and we have a money issue, then there's absolutely NO reason to pay a coach 100M if we just gonna "lose anyways"
