66Do you not realize what he’s done since coming here? Not just good hires, but hires I would never have fathomed 25 years ago.
Pulled Kelly from one of the most prestigious schools in the country. I hate Notre Dame and they suck at football, but he’s not from Southern Miss, Okie State or down there on the Bayou. Year one and in the SEC Championship game. Come on.
Mulkey - given she’s from Louisiana, but pulling her from Baylor where she could have just glided into retirement and was on a pedestal there. Second year here and in the final four? Come on.
Johnson - another solid hire. And again, lured away from a fairly good program at Arizona. Not some podunk school in North La. Recruits some of the best players out there, 21-3 in year two thus far and just pounded the #3 team in the country. Come on.
McMahon - yes while it doesn’t look great at this point it was like selling a job to come and be a water sewer treatment plant supervisor (more like taste tester). Let’s see how it pans out in year two.
As someone who’s followed LSU for 35 years, you moaners and groaners need to realize where we are right now. This could be the decade of all decades forthcoming. Stop bitching and enjoy it.

they were #5 and Friday wasnt a massacre. It was 1-1 going into extras. The final score wasn't indicative of how the game went. Now, games 2 and 3, THOSE were massacres.

Most of the guys trashing Woodward fall into 2 or 3 categories.
1. Hardcore Orgeron fans
2. Hardcore Will Wade fans
3. Basketball is my top sport fans.
Now not everyone in any or all three of those categories trash Woody. And a few criticize just the situation in basketball, which I understand.

The decision to fire Wade the way he did - leaving the team hanging days before the NCAA tournament - and then replaced him with a mid major coach was a poor decision. When he arrived on campus only one of the major sports was in good hands and consistently out performing the historical trend for that sport.
At the end of the day, he didn’t care for Wade and wanted his guy. Well, he’s got his guy, and much like his other basketball hires or decisions as an AD, it doesn’t appear to be successful.
Just because he’s made good hires in other sports does not give him immunity for the screw up with the basketball program.

In my opinion he made the wrong the decision in the Wade situation. What’s worse, a black eye or being dead? My next evaluation of him will come with Softball, gonna let Beth continue to shite the bed or what?

You can criticize the way SW handled the Wade situation but as far as the hire there was no one coming here of any significance. I'll give MM another year to show improvement but it was a crappy situation he came into. And if they were holding the football program over his head then he may have had no choice but to fire Wade. Too many unanswered questions to be able to say anything definitively. I loved wade but paying the girlfriend out of his wife's account wasn't a smart move.
