Simply: We recruited him to be a power hitter and he’s not producing. We didn’t recruit him to ‘hit right side’, ‘lay down bunts’, or ‘hit sac fly’s’…

So you only want people that agree with you to comment, no counter opinions. I remember last year when TD want Bear to be benched.

I think the problem is there is no one else on the roster who can competently play 1B. Yorke isn't great, but we saw how the Pearson experiment went.

Yamin is an experienced first baseman. That's what he played at Dayton. Serna and Arrambide are both ok there, but Yorke has more experience. However, Yorke isn't that good at it either. He occasionally makes some good plays, but he's been bad there as well.

I would really like to see what Yamin would look like with a couple of full games at 1B. Jay loves lefties and I don't think that would ever happen unfortunately.

Even though they are throwing a RHP tonight, I'd be fine with Serna at 1B to give him a break from catching, as Jay usually does. Braun will likely be the DH vs the RHP.

This is a valid point, LSU is the pinnacle of college baseball and it’s disrespectful to everyone that’s come through this program for Yorke to be out there wearing that uniform. If I had the talent to play baseball at LSU I promise you I’d put in more effort than Yorke does to be in shape

Oh look, another OT Baller that is ripped with a million dollar salary and a 10 for a wife.

I'm all for free speech, but shite like this is toxic.

You couldn't hold Yorke's jock, and the closest you ever came to any accomplishment was likely smelling a locker room from a 100 yards away.

I mean Yorke comes from a baseball family. So, he should certainly know that swinging the bat (pop up) on a 3-0 count is just not sound baseball on this level. Just an example.
Jay could also take the bat out of his hand in that situation. Why didn't he?

In conference among regular starters he is only ahead of Milam.

ETA he is also dead last in conference only batting avg at .172

Outside of the first game of the season, I’ve been saying this all year. So many times we need him to just put the ball in play and we score a run, then he strikes out. Or just get the ball out of the infield, and it’s a pop up. He does not have any situational awareness at the plate. It’s just swing big

Name all of the baseball players who came out of a slump on the bench? That is not how it works. Need reps. It will happen and when it does all you idiots will be like "it's about time, we should have sat him until he worked things out"...

We have all seen it. Just pitch him inside and he will watch it time and time again. If he does swing, he is late.

Pop ups and strike outs.

It’s tough to watch and I feel bad for the guy.

It looks like the move is Braun at 1B and then Arrambide at DH. All 3 of Braun, Arrambide, Serna are out performing Yorke, plus it gives guys we will need next year, significant experience. That leaves open the possibility to use Yorke at DH against righties if you absolutely want to but the numbers would suggest otherwise.

Conference only Avg/OBP/Slg/OPS

Serna .265 /.366 /.382 /.748
Arrambide .250 /.423 /.350 /.773
Braun .231 /.500 /.538 /1.038
Yorke. .172 /.359 /.172 /.531

Judging by what Jay said about the guy initially. None of this is true

How many at bats does Arrambide even have? Not fair to compare like that with widely different at bats.
