So, LSU has the money, facilities, fan support, prime recruiting base...wonder why LSU is now perceived as a second tier SEC program, with 7 or 8 other SEC teams ranked ahead of them in 2024 & early 2025 rankings?
Time to do some soul searching at ALL levels - administration, fan base, web sites, Bayou Traditions, etc.

Which SEC team is ranked ahead of LSU in early 2025 rankings besides Texas and maybe Georgia? LSU is nowhere preceived as second tier. Get out of here with that BS. LSU is ranked in the top 5 of just about every early 2025 poll out right now.

Or maybe we had a head coach who ruined the program in 2 years and we're in the process of getting it back on track?

Dumbasses primarily on this board who ran off a very successful CEO because they didn’t approve of his accent.

This explains why Alabama was begging their sidewalk fanbase for money.

They’re poor as frick

have you seen thier campus lately?

It's like disney level nice...

They have money coming out of their ears because 70% of the students are paying out of state tuition tax

it's 10 grand per semester beyond what in state students pay... do the math

Even more reason to be frustrated that we failed to bring in more talent in 2023 and 2024.

Kelly botched the defensive staff hires when he initially got here. That put us behind the 8 ball when it came to defensive recruiting till 2024 when we rehired raymond, hired blake baker and brought bo davis back

And Bear. Very pedestrian program otherwise, aside from the other imaginary championships from the 1840’s that they love to claim

Apart from the two most successful coaches in college football history they’ve been pedestrian? It’s just coincidence Alabama had two of the most successful eras ever for any program? While they do have some dubious claims from the 30s and 40s, those 30s teams were still the strongest in the South. Their 1924 and 1925 teams have legitimate claims. Add the title in 1992 and they were far from pedestrian historically.

Waco, I agree with your comment re 2025.
No one here hopes more that I that we hit that goal. I saw the '58 bunch when I was young & would love to see at least one more before I go.

My concern is that we were ranked there in '24 & we didn't finish in the top 25 at years end. Why?

I maintain that we have almost every thing we need to get there & stay there...ALMOST EVERYTHING.

Hope I am wrong.

Probably had more to do with him going .500 in back to back seasons

Disagree. LSU would be number 1. Factoring in food and tailgating and total reputation gets LSU to the top. Recency bias is stupid.

What precisely does food and tailgating have to do with the market value a billionaire would be willing to spend to buy the football program.

Economic Value has nothing to do with football rankings. I know this will be painful, but economic value to the University is how Woodward is evaluated. Probably blows your mind.

Yes, hence why they suck when those two aren’t coaching them. Most reasonably smart people can see that Alabama isn’t some ultra-resource-rich program like Ohio State. They’re just very, very lucky to have two stretches under Bear and Saban

LSU is 2nd rate when you have UGA ,FLA, UTx ,and A&M in the conference. They have the money, fan base, academic rankings, endowment, alumni giving, TV markets and all the other things that come into play. We just look like everyone else and trending downhill. Landry, Scalise and Johnson should have lobied for Stargate. Now it looks like Texas is getting the $500 billion project.
UT and A&M will probably set up R&D branch campuses in Abilene.

Even the greatest coaches aren’t winning 6 national titles at a school if that school doesn’t have the resources to compete at that high of a level. Saban didn’t win anything at Michigan State. Bryant didn’t win a title at Kentucky or A&M. It stretches credulity to suggest Alabama didn’t provide a fertile ground for those kinds of historic runs to occur.

Even if you lay aside the long stretches of time those two coaches led the program, Alabama still has a strong history. Wallace Wade led them to 3 undefeated seasons. Bama claims NCs in all 3 seasons and they are the consensus pick in 1925 and 1926. Frank Thomas had 3 undefeated seasons in 15 years with Bama claiming two dubious titles in that time. The NCs are suspect, but they were still a Top 5 team 4 times in that span. They struggled to find the right coach between 1947 and 1957, but still had 2 Top 10 finishes and 4 ranked finishes in that time. In between Bryant and Saban, Stallings led Bama to an NC and 3 Top 5 finishes while finishing unranked only once in 7 seasons. They didn’t reach the same heights without Bryant and Saban, but the same is true of just about every program if you exclude their top two coaches historically.

Where do you people get this shite. I’ve seen two 2025 polls and we were 8th in the nation in both. So while your math is matching your idiotic emotional thought process. It’s not matching reality.
