No. How would it be fools gold? They beat a bad team at home, and are losing to the top 3-4 sec teams on the roads. They are doing exactly what youd expect a lower tier sec team to do

It's more like fool's pyrite. South Carolina is an SEC team, but was unable to hammer our less than stellar pitching staff unlike all the other conference teams we've played, as well as some really weak nonconference opponents. Quite shocking, in retrospect

I really think we are probably the 13th or so best team in the sec. If we played Mizzou this year instead of Georgia or Florida we would probably be looking at a postseason.

It got my hopes up, too. But not because I thought sweeping them was a great accomplishment (sweeping any SEC team is an accomplishment, some more than others).
I had hope that it would generate some confidence in the team, pitchers in particular.

Well, most. Oklahoma scored 9 runs (7 earned) total in 3 games (1, 4, 4), but we managed to lose the two in which they scored 4. We really should have swept that series.

It got my hopes because of how they played not who they played. They did a lot of things right and I had hope that maybe that would have been the spark they needed. These kids are talented and this coaching staff is and has been very good. They just can’t put it together yet. Hopefully next year.

NO - fool’s gold is the idea of something is worth more or more valuable only to find out it is worthless.
That series was NOT fool’s gold, we beat a team that is as bad as we are at home, nothing more. Anyone fan that watches LSU baseball still could see something is not right with this team.

What did the South Carolina series fool you into thinking. Were you expecting LSU to take 2/3 this weekend from Georgia? If so, that’s your own fault.
