How has aggy managed to excape playing UGA once in 13 years? The current system your propose may stop that sort of ridiculousness

I don't mind that one. Keeps some rivalries intact such as Alabama Tennessee.

So basically LSU, Ole Miss, and MSU joins the old Southwest Conference. Who cares anymore. Throw all the traditions out the window.
Things change. Just be glad we get paid more every year. NIL and scheduling will never remain the same until folks quit coming or following. Then the networks will pay attention.

You are suggesting that the westernmost teams be in the west and the easternmost teams be in the east, can’t argue against it.

You basically transferred us into the Big 12 from 20 years ago.
I’m ok with divisions, but that kind of sucks.

Add 4 teams and have the 10 charter members as one division. Play all teams in the division and a game against the other division that doesn’t count towards the conference standings.

For in general, but in looking at those two divisions it almost reads like an OG division and a newcomer division.
Don’t like that.

I like 4 division, but you have to even up the division strengths. You probably need something like this:
Southwest: Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas
Delta: Texas A&M, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State,
East: Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Kentucky,
Central: Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Vanderbilt,
If you have an 8 game conference schedule with divisions in rotating pairs, you can ensure that you play every team in the conference every 3 years, home and away every 6 years, and you can actually cheat in a 4 team playoff. To do that you play every team in your division (3 games) and two of the teams in each of the two divisions you aren't paired with (4 games). You move the rivalry games up a week, and the last week the paired divisions play (top seeds play each other, 2nd seeds play each other, and so forth). That gives 8 conference games, and the last week serves as the first round of the SEC playoffs.
If you poach 4 teams from the ACC, you make the original 10 SEC teams into their east and west divisions, put USCe with the ACC teams in the Atlantic Division, and the rest into the Southwest Division. You can do the same thing with a 9 game slate.

This x1000. Everyone would play everyone home and away in any given 4-year span. It's the only way to have any scheduling parity and avoid the clusterfrick of royally screwing a team like Oklahoma this year while giving another team like Texas an absolute cake walk to Atlanta.
On top of that, the Texas season was a snoozefest. I would much rather have a fun 10-2/9-3 football season than a lame 12-0/11-1 season with no good games.

Chicken's proposal is what I have proposed on a few occasions since we were moving to a 16-team conference. It makes the most geographic sense and it makes qualifying for the SECCG better, IMO. We should go to it in 2026.
I have been following LSU and the SEC for many decades. I couldn't care less if we only play Bama/AU once every few years. Hell, I don't care if we ever play them unless it is in the SECCG.

Would rather go to 9 conference games and get rid of the sec championship. It makes no sense in this playoff era. Maybe have 4 divisions. Play everyone in your division and play 2 from each other division. In this scenario I would advocate for all conference championship games be eliminated and expand the playoff to 16.

For so you win your division and then to the SECCG. Also none of these BS Utex schedules

The West is too weighted with former Big 8 schools in this line up. I'd prefer the traditional East West divisions and put Oklahoma in the east and Texas in the west

Pros: pretty much geographic based. Will maintain a lot of rivalries.
Cons: relocates three SEC originals into what used to be the SWC/Big-8 conferences. We ostensibly lose annual games against Bama, UF, and Auburn.
I'm not a big fan of schedules with an odd # of conference games since this means some teams will only have 4 home games and others 5.
No easy solution to this.

Against. LSU would be relegated to the old SWC/Big 8, not the SEC. Too much history and tradition would be lost.

Does not matter, super conferences stink, it’s just putting lipstick on a pig. Having a conference championship game is totally retarded money grab now as well, now that there are 12 playoff spots.
Every conference in nation should be 10 teams, everyone plays each other, champ decided in season. Conference championship games go the way of the dodo bird. Anything else is just trying to make a fart smell good.
