Would Cooper be available for Sunday? 38 pitches.

Safe to say that Gervase is good to go today.

Cooper is throwing an extremely flat mid to upper 80’s fastball. He’s going to get lit up again.

No movement and no velocity on his fastball... spells trouble!

There was a whole season before last nights game…..where Cooper has been pretty f’n good. He’s one of the first and best options out of the pen. He’s bailed the Tigers out on many occasions.

He didn’t have his best stuff. It happens.

First, no his fastball isn’t flat. Second, his fastball was sitting 90-92. Third, he hasn’t been lit up all season until last night. Fourth, shut up

Cooper will be the last guy off the bench the rest of the way

Coach said as much for both Coop and Hilliard. Not their night.

Yeah, but this is the dead arm time of year, in which the guys like Cooper and Reyzelman, who were overused, start to get shelled. Their velocity drops and their movement decreases.

??? Dude has one bad outing and it’s frick him?? Lmao

One bad outing? Every look at his pitching performance relative to the rest of team?

ERA:
Fat Riley - 4.26
Team - 4.21

BA allowed:
Fat Riley - .303
Team - .237

WHIP:
Fat Riley - 1.4
Team - 1.31

K/9:
Fat Riley - 0.84
Team - 1.13

Seems like on the average, he brings the team down when he's on the mound. There really isn't a baseball metric that he excels in. He's simply an innings eater who takes up space until we can get our bats to wake up or until we can get someone like Reyzelman, Vietmeir, Hasty, Collins, or Gervase on the mound.

Overused? Looks like Tennessee has relievers with as many if not more innings pitched. Do you really think we should have our relievers with fewer than 38 or 40 innings pitched at this point in the season?

Look at ALL of Cooper's outings. Mostly super good, but has a few bad ones sprinkled in that affect his ERA. He's been good all year.

His era was 3.00 before last night. He was one of our most consistent guys this year.

BA against has been pretty high all year.
Figured it would catch up to him eventually.

you would think but in terms of body mass and fitness I am not sure his endurance to compete better than he did yesterday. I hope I am wrong.

Hopefully if he does compete it will be better than it has been. Without missing a step, he allows a basehit to the first batter he fases every time he pitches.

Hopeful we do not put him in with a runner on third again. He is good but not with runners on base.

Have you seen some of the guys that pitch in the majors? They compete just fine. If you just don’t like looking at him that’s fine, but you don’t have to be a fitness freak to compete at pitching.
