Vadal Alexander against Bama in 2014

I was at the game, lower bowl, on the goal line. Watched it happen right in front of me. And then right after they tied it up and kicked off, just before OT, they blew up LF7 on the kick return, their sideline went psycho, and all the momentum was gone. From one of loudest times I’ve ever heard the stadium when we recovered the fumble with a minute left to complete deflation. It felt over before OT even started. Heartbreaking and complete crap by the refs.

Not to mention Les basically playing for the field goal after the penalty pushed is back. Never got up for another Bama game again until this year.

Oh, and yeah...the entire OT of them TAMU game.

This is a play that never gets discussed, but was terrible.
The DB just drove Lafell back like he was blocking him, with his back to the play, directly in front of an official and no call.

Every game the last half of the 2009 season for the teams playing against Florida or Alabama. The SEC was advertising a 1 versus 2 SEC championship game for the last 3 weeks of the regular season and they had to protect that game. Every week there were terrible calls that went against their opponents including a number against us against Bama, mainly the PP interception, but also the block in the back against Taylor when he was about to tackle Julio for a short game which turned into a long TD play

The 4th quarter interference USC-LSU call in 1979 which gave the game to USC.

Yep I remember that day and that call. Absolutely a homer cheating call.

Miles lost that game by not opening the offense earlier. We had the best QB in the country handing off on dive plays.

The Patrick Peterson interception was the worst call I have ever seen that could have been overturned by replay and wasn't.

This is an LSU-centric site, so no doubt the majority of responses will involve an LSU game of some sort. But you're right. I forgot about that one and honestly don't think there could be a worse call. Vandy was given a TD on a play where the receiver LITERALLY never caught/possessed the ball. Not even for a split second. And TWO officials looking right at the play where they could see the dropped ball go flying out of bounds BOTH signaled TD...while the ball was rolling on the ground 5 yards away from the receiver who dropped it.

EDT: If people would click on the link they would see that all the other plays discussed here are moot. THAT is the worst call I've ever seen

Would the ball have been knocked away even if Doucet wasn't tackled? Probably so. But the illegal contact CLEARLY happened before the tip and the officials chose to deem the penalty irrelevant because it ultimately had no effect on the play (i.e. the ball still would have been knocked away).

That's what's so infuriating about that call. It doesn't matter that the ball was tipped if the contact happened before the tip. That's pass interference. Those officials knew that, because LSU had an interception overturned earlier in the game under the exact same circumstances.

All that said, that no-call on the PI in the 04 Bama game was a gift to us, and the Vandy touchdown is the worst call I've ever seen.

Along with other questionable calls in that game, that really made me think the fix was in that day.

GRAND THEFT AUBURN is the name of that game son

there were 8 NO CALLS/BAD CALLS that day. 4 were drive killer. we were not winning that game regardless. people need to accept it. had buster davis somehow got into the EZ from the 5 yard line on that last pass from j rock to him...................a flag was coming out.................trust me. we were not winning that game. the replay official that game was just as crooked as the jagoff at bama in 2009.

all this overcoming the refs is a crock of shite. a couple calls? ok sure. but 8? we were not playing LA TECH. this was a top 10 sec team ON THE ROAD. you are not overcoming 8 no calls/bad calls.

Both are equal in my book but, if I had to pick one it was the PP interception.

bad thing is they upheld a PI against us earlier in the game that happened BEHIND an interception. the flag made the pick null and void. pretty much the same scenario, except one was Intercepted and one deflected.

BINGO

Another strong hint the game was fixed

Not a fan of admitting it, but Corey Webster is still fortunate one Saturday night in 2004.
