The "leverage" they called on Auburn's missed XP years ago

It's this one and it's not even close.
Idiot missed the XP, keeping the game tied. Instead they let him rekick it b/c an LSU guy, i think Ronnie Prude, landed on the pile when he jumped. That was a penalty that i would bet if you could look it up, was never called that year in any game but that one, and to top it off, that penalty was removed from the rule book the following year b/c it was such a shitty call.

the early doucet pass interference/defensive hold flag pick up at auburn is still the biggest screw job I've ever seen. Along with other questionable calls in that game, that really made me think the fix was in that day
I went apeshit that day. Lost hundreds of dollars as well.

The fix was in at that Auburn game. More so than A&M 2018 7 OT, IMO. The A&M calls all went one way, but most of them were close.

Completely agree with the Vadal Alexander bs personal foul in 2014. LSU had Bama beat for all intents and purposes that year and yet they squeaked away... just like 2012

I actually think the Hester fumble/nonfumble early in the game was an even worse call

The PP int was bad.

But there were easily 4 or 5 calls in the 06 AU game that were just as bad if not worse.

Can’t even begin to explain how bad the entire Auburn 06 game was.

Worst officiating I’ve seen in my lifetime and I was at the A&M game in 2018

Whole game was a screw job, but Russell horribly underthrew that pass. Would have been a TD in stride.

They would have just made something up and called it back.

LSU wasn't winning that day.

the bogus personal foul called on Vadal Alexander against Bama in 2014. Vadal was trying to get his leg free of the Bama player trying to take his leg out of socket and got flagged.

This is probably the least talked about shitty call of them all. It really was a BS call. The guy was holding his leg and he shoved him. 15 yards

It's a tough call between 2004 and 2006. I agree that it was a call none of us had really seen before or after the call that year. So there had to be some official, specifically looking for that one possible play BEFORE the ball was even snapped. The LSU player didn't get "leverage". He literally just landed after his jump because...well...the laws of gravity are pretty absolute.

What tips the scales in 2006 for me is that they WAIVED off the flag. And not only did they waive the flag off. But they did so AFTER announcing the penalty in favor of LSU and signaling first down. No one took a look at it before the announcement. Clearly all thought it was a justified penalty. But to then go back and waive it off (which in my mind is worse than just not throwing the flag) amplified the issue. Would the ball have been knocked away even if Doucet wasn't tackled? Probably so. But the illegal contact CLEARLY happened before the tip and the officials chose to deem the penalty irrelevant because it ultimately had no effect on the play (i.e. the ball still would have been knocked away).

It is akin to a basketball official calling a foul in the middle of a shot. Then retroactively waiving off the foul because the shot ultimately went in anyway

Rogers Redding (SEC coordinator of officiating) explained on the Monday after the game that the call was correct because the deflection by the DB rendered the pass uncatchable. I would like to see the video again, but what rendered the ball uncatchable was the DB holding the receiver's arms and leg. Didn't Ducet actually get his hands on the ball?

That call was horrible as well as the Non PI call on LaFell taking a mailing in the freaking end zone. The one that made me go crazy and nearly get into a fight with my nearly 60 y:o arse was the call on the Jacob Hester “no fumble out of bounds that would have given us a first down and 10 before half time..
Hester catches the ball clearly, turns to run up field and takes 2-3 steps when the ball is poked from behind and goes out of bounds. What happened next to me was the worse. The official ruled it as a non catch instead of a fumble. The fumble gives LSU the ball where it goes out of bounds.

That was BULL shite!

bad thing is they upheld a PI against us earlier in the game that happened BEHIND an interception. the flag made the pick null and void.

pretty much the same scenario, except one was Intercepted and one deflected.

I’d also guess you could count on one hand the number of illegal leaping flags SEC refs have thrown on an XP.

Yeah.. A guy with 4/5 fingers ripped off in a work accident could show us how many on that disfigured hand.
