But I seriously doubt the Michigan A.D. put out a statement on Woody after he retired

Another irrelevant comparison. Woody Hayes didn't put Mich on the map and win a title there.

But even Woody Hayes aint Saban

When you grow up, you may someday have a job that you leave for another opportunity at a competitor that makes sense at the time.

Is it wrong for your supervisor/ colleague at your original job to think well of you?

I’m old enough to be well aware of what LSU football was in the 80s and 90s.

I’m just not on board with bowing down to Saban. Congratulate him sure, welcome him back for a polite applause when he is with the 2023 team for the 25th anniversary of the national title, sure.

But I’m not bowing down to him and forgetting that he purposely put his finger in LSU’s eye for 17 years. Saban knew LSU, not Auburn, not Tennessee, was his biggest threat for all but the last 3 years of his time at Alabama. He intentionally hurt us behind the scenes to try and keep us down.

and I could swear he made some cajun ditch digger comment to get laughs at some bama banquet...recording could be lost but it wasn't a good look.

it was a hot mic at his intro press conference or something and he made a comment like, someone heard some cajun dude say "nick saban going to Bama is like him trying to bang my wife"

or something to that effect

Saban won a championship here. Woodward made a professional, accurate statement.

Everything is going to be ok.

I am assuming that you expected O to say glowing things about Ole Miss, Tennessee, USC, Arkansas, Syracuse, Northwestern, Nicholls Stateand Miami to recruits because he worked at those places. Les had to only say nice things about Okie State, Colorado, Mcheese, or Michigan to recruits because he coached.

Wooward worked at LSU with Saban. Saban was a big part of pulling LSU into the modern era of football. Some of have the maturity of a 12 year old girl and need to grow up.

Did Ohio State ever have a coach that won a National Championship at Michigan?

Story from 2007

The man made fun of LSU fans and proceeded to kick their teeth in for the better part of 17 years and some act like the school be renamed for him.

I don't see an issue. w/o Saban, we'd be a much worse program.

You're right: Ohio State and Michigan would never honor opposing coaches.

Ever.

I am not sure if telling the truth about our offense was really bad mouthing during the Miles years.

LSU does the same thing to a school that has cracks.

He was honored in death...not when he retired from coaching...big difference!

didn’t he make some offhanded comment about LSU fans being ditch diggers?

I don’t recall that.

But in fairness, I’ve dug a few ditches since graduating from LSU.
