Good. Hopefully a mammoth contract keeps him here

No, Wade knew the Football hire was paramount. They are going to take care of tGeneral.

I don’t think Pear would leave for another SEC team unless things ended ugly with Woodward. I just hope they can work it out soon and Woodward doesn’t try to use the investigation or national pressure to justify not extending Wade

I think they probably want to extend him.

I also think, from a leadership standpoint, that is hard to do with the ncaa still digging around.

Do you know how silly it would be to give him a raise & have to put buyout stipulations regarding sanctions in that new contract?

This is been going on for what, three years now?

If they don't have anything by now they never will. Time to end this BS!

Well, the fact that his contract is almost up kind of suggest otherwise.

His contract is not up until June 2023

Can you imagine the mental gymnastics from the national media if this ever happened?

The NCAA is evil, let’s just hope that they don’t let LSU & WW ascend to certain heights before dropping the bomb

I don't know if Woodward necessarily loves Wade. First, Woodward did not hire him. Not that it wasn't warranted, but Woodward has been on a mission to get his own people in since he became the AD. Second, Wade (in addition to the NCAA cloud hanging over him) is relentlessly demanding of the administration to given him what he thinks his program needs and he's not afraid to call out the administration on it (as you saw Saturday night). That can be a little off-putting to an AD who feels they showed loyalty to a HC under investigation when other schools may not have.

In the end though, Woodward is smart enough to know that (a) the fans like Wade, and (b) he has the program winning at a consistent level that hasn't been seen in these parts for 30 years. So while Wade may be a bit of a pain in the arse, Woodward is not going to get rid of him if he doesn't has to.

The LSU fans love Wade and his enthusiasm that he brings to the program. He is top 3 in the SEC every year. He needs better facilities. He needs a raise and extension

Multiple people have come out and said that both sides really love each other so Idk where this is coming from.

Wade has mentioned working with Scott and Stephanie Rempe alot with what is coming next for the program. Culotta has dropped many nuggets of Wade and Woodward enjoying each other and Wade himself has shat on Alleva and praised the support he is getting from athletics.

He hasn’t been to the final four in 6 years. Good chance that extends to 7. Imagine how Alabama fans would feel if they didn’t make the CFP 6 years in a row. That’s what Kentucky fans are going through.

Or just make an amendment he can be fired for cause for certain types of violations in his new contract.

Pretty sure that was already included in his last contract.

For whatever reason, people just can't comprehend that no one is going to hire Will Wade right now. It would be a PR nightmare that no athletic director wants.

Once all the NCAA stuff comes down, he will be rewarded handsomely if it goes well for LSU.

If it all goes crossways, he won't be coaching for LSU or anyone else.

The proposed new amendment also specifies that Wade can be fired for cause if the NCAA Infractions Committee issues a formal notice of allegations of Level 1 or Level 2 violations of NCAA rules against LSU that involve Wade. Level 1 or Level 2 violations are the most severe.

In addition, Wade agreed that if LSU were to fire him for cause in that circumstance, he would waive all claims that LSU wrongfully terminated him or terminated him without cause. A termination without cause would require the university to pay Wade a buyout.

If Wade is fired for cause, his contract says all forms of compensation will end on the termination date. Wade is working under a contract that is scheduled to pay him $2.5 million annually through June 30, 2023.

The proposed amendment also would expressly give LSU the right to fire Wade without cause if, subject to all appeals, the NCAA finds that Wade committed a Level 1 or Level 2 rules violation, or if Wade is indicted in any federal or state criminal proceeding.

Woodward isn’t letting someone overpay him to come coach at their school. He’s getting paid either way

Wade is hated by college basketball. That will help us keep him here, on that note we need to lock him up and get the facilities up to par if we truly want to compete for a national title
