It doesn't make a ton of sense, but you are a lot more compacted with other people in the stadium and often screaming with your spit going everywhere.

Tailgates aren't all like that. Some are, but they are a lot more spread out usually and often smaller amongst folks that are already around each other in other life situations (family/close friends).

Also, people have to realize this is just PR. It's not going to be hard to get into the stadium. Just relax.

I've been to a full Tiger Stadium many, many times. Pretty much all of those occasions have been me sitting in the same seat next to the same few people for the entire game absent a trip or two to the concession stand and/or bathroom. In fact, I'd venture to say I encounter MANY more individuals, in close proximity, during 2, 3, 4 hours of tailgating than I do sitting in my seats for the football game where I'm in close proximity with the same 5-6 people for the entire gam

You’re so fricking dumb.

He’s using the no rules to point out the absurdity of the rules.

Who was the poster saying they were roping off tons of spots?

That guy was so full of crap. I rode out there yesterday and saw there wasn’t any prime tailgate spots being roped off whatsoever.

It is perhaps something that LSU will not say publicly but they don't want large numbers of people hanging out on the campus without a ticket and have no attention to go to the game.

Well Woodward just publicly said that he wants 200k out there tailgating so I would say that’s not entirely true.

The 25 to 30 year old guys who don't have a ticket and just come to campus to hang out and drink all day, some to the point of public intoxication, truth be told LSU probably doesn't care if they decide to stay home. And in full disclosure, neither do I.

In full disclosure, I don’t think anyone cares if you care. God forbid a 20 something year old hanging out and drinking.

Let’s Geaux! Covid and a year off has really taken out my tailgate group. Went from 12 people down to 3 of us left. But I’m still as fired up as ever to get to campus early and setup and suck up the game day experience again.

So no restrictions on thousands of people close to each other (tailgating) but restrcitions on thousands of people close to each other (stadium). Makes perfect sense. FU JBE

This is somewhat of a relief. As long as tailgating is a go, then I'll be at the games.

Same...we used to have around a dozen each week...over 20 for SEC games... parking becomeing a living hell, our spot being moved and then COVID..... it's now down to literally just 2 households (we're the ones who started runnig it years ago).....I'm by no means any less pumped

It is the right move to help a guy's wife's friend's brother who is a type 2 diabetic feel "safe" about attending the game.

My ex-wife is allergic to peanuts. We've had to leave a game early once and damn near had to bring her to the ER because the peanut shells were flying everywhere. Why doesn't LSU stop peanut sales in high winds? Surely, she's not the only one out of 102,000. If they cared about risk to life, they wouldn't sell peanuts once the wind gets over X mph. This presents an immediate threat, unlike covid and second-hand smoke.

Screaming in the stadium can only possibly infect the people immediately around you. Approximately the same amount you are intimately in close contact with at a tailgate. Tailgates also have beer pong, rows of self service food, and nasty COVID infected children running all over the place.
