Wade got us into an nit and 4 ncaa tournament games in 5 years. If Wade would gave been allowed to coach in all the tournaments LSU made under his leadership, your question may have some validity.
How many tournaments will McMahon or his successor get us in during the next 5 years? It's not looking good. Lsu is not a basketball school and the ad is verifying that supposition.

No they weren’t. Y’all keep repeating this and it doesn’t make it true. He wasn’t building anything in year 5 and he wasn’t ever going to have a more talented team than 2020 with Watford, Thomas, and Days, and that team went 19-10 with an early exit in the tournament. EVERY year he’d sign extremely high end recruits, and EVERY year he’d disappoint in March because he couldn’t actually coach and he didn’t have the attention to detail needed to be elite. His podcast about how “culture doesn’t matter” was embarrassing and showed why he wasn’t ever highly successful
McMahon looks awful at this point but I’m not sure why the Wade stan crew is trying to use it as evidence that he was anything more than a great recruiter and below average coach

He was 2-3 in the ncaa tournament in his career. He advanced in his 3rd season coaching. In his second season at LSU the team he built reached the sweet 16.
Scott drew didn’t advance in the tournament until his 7th season at baylor and 8th season coaching.
Bill self didn’t advance until his 6th season as a head coach
