No. Thats not how this works.

Defense usually dominates early on (this is true for every level of football).

LSUs defense is ridiculous, they will have to keep our offense in the first 3-4 games.

LINK to the article if anyone's interested. Clark's quote is toward the end.

still not a ton of context ,as the quote is from a radio show.

I didn't hear this statement, but if he meant it the way it reads, he doesn't know much about LSU football.

Clark is around the program. He knows what he's seeing.

Does he? He thinks the offense is going to have to carry the defense.

Is Ryan Clark on staff (assuming he’s close to the program if not)?

Just asking because if I was CEO, I’d be having people like him (and random posters on sites like this) “leak” misinformation deliberately to try to get Texas to place emphasis on the wrong areas.

Not that it would make a huge difference, but football is a game in which as a coach, you take any and every advantage you can get.

No, but he is very close to the program.

He either owns/operates a football training facility/company that focuses on DBs.

Wtf? Defense is great

It should be. But the defense has to prove it. It wasn't great last year. Florida and Bama manhandled us some. Maybe it was just injuries, but let's see.

Ryan pulled his tongue off Saban’s but long enough to speak? Maybe there’s hope for him

If this offense carries this defense, that will mean LSU has both a top 5 offense and defense in the nation.

He did say he only thought this was going to be the case the first few weeks of the season.

Proof that Clark has gone completely to the "I am a media member trying to stir the pot" camp.

What does that even mean, I've never heard Ryan gush over Saban ,he's like us and is wanting Lsu to beat Saban and bama every year.

To the people that say they don't like or respect booger, spears, and clark: these are the only guys from lsu that I hear people talk negatively about .maybe you should think, what do all these guys have in common?
Obviously they are the ones that have to have an unbiased opinion, being that there analysts on TV now. Maybe y'all should work on not hating someone just because there trying to be professional and trying to be unbiased. How can some not understand that

I think some fans and guys like Clark are having a hard time accepting that we may just be badass on offense and defense this year.its almost like a lot of us are scared to jinx us or something lol.. We're so used to being good on d and bad on o, that we don't want to set ourselves up for disappointment by stating the probability that we should be pretty damn good everywhere this year.

So is the rest of the country. We're excited about Burrow this season because he has potential. We're still waiting for him to prove himself.

What they need is for the offense to compliment the defense. Convert some 3rd downs, keep the chains moving, and score TDs instead of FGs. The defense has had so much pressure on them recently. They've had to play near perfect football to win games while the offense dicks around.

We saw this a few games last year and they looked like they could beat anybody. On paper this is the most balanced LSU team I've seen in years.

Reports from early camp was that the D couldn’t stop the run.

On paper, this doesn't make sense. This defense is built to stop the run. The 3 DL are all run stoppers and 2 are proven guys. We lost White, but there should be more than enough talent at LB. If we can't stop the run, what would be causing that?
