I found this to be an odd statement also when he said it. He said the defense is young and will have to learn which makes no sense. Stingley and Ika are the only underclassman starters on D. If the D has trouble then something is very wrong

The head coach needs to field an offense that ALWAYS BELIEVES it needs to carry the team. That is the type of offense we're longing for, always attacking, petal to the medal at all times, always determined to score. I don't care how good your defense is; it will be tested in this day and time.

He saw the problems in practice and talking with the coaches I am sure. He did not just pull something out his arse.
