Look, I'm no happier than anyone else on the board right now, but it's a bit upsetting to think that Les did the right thing by dismissing RP and it might end up costing him his job.

If Miles would have let RP continue to act like a punk, but kept him at qb, we probably win 10+ games last year, and 10+ games this year, with a much better chance of beating Florida and Alabama.

I hope we win out, Jefferson continues to improve, and we go back to looking less sloppy on offense.

The question SHOULD read:

Well, Miles won't be fired after this season. So I don't see how Perriloux is relevant after this season.

costing him his job.

Miles could lose the remaining games and keep his job. Anyone who thinks otherwise is not living in reality.

Miles will have an experienced QB next year. There will be no excuses.

perriloux appeared to be a virus. he would have affected the players around him in a negative way, based on his actions. Miles made the right choice.

I think it's obvious. Had Miles went after another talented and STABLE QB, we would have a talented senior QB right now.

It was known Perrilloux was a gamble from a character point of view, this was why Saban had no interest in him. Miles didn't seem to mind.

So the question stands:

Will the Recruitment of Perriloux Cost Miles His Job?

Which by the way, Miles' job is not in jeopardy. I'm just properly rephrasing the question for the OP.

Eh, if one player getting kicked off a deep talented team like LSU gets the coach fired, then he wasnt much of a coach to begin with. Miles will have had 3 seasons to find a new QB.

if Miles didnt recruit him he would have been bashed for letting the state's number one recruit go. now you're trying to blame him for recruiting him?

On the contrary...Miles did the right thing. Hardly anyone would dispute that, which is exactly why it's difficult to root for him to be fired, when essentially, he'd lose his job for doing the right thing.

I don't think that's a fair assessment, given that Miles was hired 6 weeks before national signing day and the majority of qbs had already selected their schools.

If he and Crowton could develop a goddam QB, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

I respect your opinion, but you're missing the mark on this one.

It's popular belief I think that LSU wouldve had Colt McCoy of RP went elsewhere. But yeah, everyone was excited when RP signed with LSU. It wouldve looked just as bad to let the #1 recruit leave the state.

I don't think it's fair to judge Les Miles on his first class when he had such little time to put it together.

The OP insinuated that Miles may have had some culpability in the Perrilloux fiasco (in the sense that we have NO senior QB now).

My response, Miles did the RIGHT thing kicking Perrilloux off so, if he bears some culpability, he OBVIOUSLY did the wrong thing recruiting him. It's not complicated logic.
