re: Will the Dismissal of Perriloux Cost Miles His Job?

I absolutely believe Miles did the right thing by ridding the team of RP. However I often wondered if he had just kept him where we would be. There have been many teams in history with thugs that went on to greatness.

If Miles would have let RP continue to act like a punk, but kept him at qb, we probably win 10+ games last year, and 10+ games this year, with a much better chance of beating Florida and Alabama.
You obviously know nothing about coaching. If you let one get away with whatever, it begins to trickle down...eventually a very large number of the players act like asses and have no discipline at all.

My response, Miles did the RIGHT thing kicking Perrilloux off so, if he bears some culpability, he OBVIOUSLY did the wrong thing recruiting him. It's not complicated logic.
So, in hindsight, who should Miles have signed in his first 40 days on the job?

Miles' dismissal of team and individual discipline will cost him his job...but not before he runs the program into the ground.

Leave that shite to the politard board.

He should have never been signed. It was known he was a punk before hand.

If you'll recall, Perrilloux signed in February of 2005. He redshirted in 2005, thus he played in 2006 and 2007. So to say Saban had no interest is not accurate.

Given the context of this thread: Not Perrilloux.
It's OK to admit he was wrong AND we were wrong for wanting him here. But the fact is, the coach doing the recruiting knows much more about the recruit than fans on a message board.
The only thing Miles' did wrong with Perrilloux AFTER recruiting him was not kicking him off sooner.

No need to insult buddy. As stated on page 1, I feel that Miles did the right thing by booting RP. Are you telling me that LSU would have had a worse record, better, or same record with RP at qb the last 2 years?

This is the real world, Cinderella, and you overlook a lot to get talent, hoping you can turn them around. You 20/20 hindsight, Monday morning quarterbacks are pukes.

That's not an acceptable answer. He only had 40 days and there were very few qbs left that we could get at that point. You have to put the situation into context. Don't simply criticize; come up with a solution.

So I guess we should delete this entire thread, as well as your previous posts and shut down this message board?

Sorry, didn't mean to insult, but you can't keep someone on like that, regardless of how good he is. The football coach at my old high school started catering to the whims of the stars on our team and he put the program in the ground quickly. Two coaches later and they're still having discipline problems.

That's NOT my job. That was MILES' responsibility. Pay me 4 million dollars and I'll spend days on here giving you 200 threads of solutions.
