You jam a single bill massive tax cut
You guys haven't been listening to massie and the freedom caucus. These tax cuts cost $4.5 trillion over 10 years. They want spending cuts to pay for it.

Is there some sort of gentleman’s agreement with the filibuster?
The Dems are still kicking themselves in the arse for eliminating the filibuster on judicial nominations under Obama. The GOP warned them they would regret it.
Fast forward to the Trump admin who appointed 3 SCOTUS judges with a simple majority. No way any of them gets 60 votes.
As bad as things are, the filibuster is the last guardrail in place.

I add my browned pork after the liquid and let it simmer (covered) about 20 minutes or so. Then I add the rest of my meat, bring to a boil and add my rice.

The GOP is working on a reconciliation bill that will include these tax cuts, along with making the 2017 tax cuts (expires end of year) permanent. This process allows them to bypass the 60 votes needed in the senate.
This is the big, beautiful bill Trump talks about. The challenge will be getting the House GOP on the same page.

This process is taking way too long
The Senate moves at snail's pace. Lots of procedural rules that gives the minority party an opportunity to slow play the process.
Most here would probably be surprised to learn they have confirmed 12 in 17 days. That's pretty good given the obstacles. I think they have 10 more to go.

I would figure Thursday, maybe Wednesday evening
Won't be till next week. Up next is Pam Bondi tonight, then Scott Turner and Russell Vought later this week.
Dems slow walking it as long as they can.

It's not over. They will now have 30 hours of debate. Once that is over, they will have a confirmation vote. 51 is only needed and should happen tomorrow evening.

Holy shite, Sid won it. Only 25 precincts left. It's over.

Early voting has been counted. It's separate from the day of vote.

re: How Is Baseball Attendance Calculated?
Posted by JustSmokin on 4/24/24 at 12:15 pm to Tenntig
The NCAA attendance report is paid attendance. LSU baseball stopped reporting actual attendance a long time ago. I think it was shortly after the new box opened. They would include both actual and paid in the box score.
Not aware of any school reporting actual these days.

Due to employee theft
I worked concessions when it was all cash and was surprised by how little theft was going on. Any losses were deducted from the groups/vendors commission so they watched their money like a hawk.
Now, I was a bit surprised that nobody ever attempted to rob the money room after the game when it had about $500k sitting there waiting for the truck to pickup.

A decision was made internally several years ago to compromise with the anthem protesters by just keeping them in the locker room.
When was the last time you saw LSU football and basketball (men or women) teams on the field/court during the anthem? I've been going to games since the 80s and don't recall it ever happening. And it's not just LSU.

They do starting this fall.
The new deal is a lot more money for the non-revenue sports but it is just for the NCAA championships (postseason). They considered giving wbb their own deal but left it as is for now.
This should reduce the losses of some of the non-revenue sports but not likely make them profitable. Might make LSU baseball profitable, or at least break even, on a consistent basis. Dunno.

No way the women's basketball team is losing money starting this year. Guarantee Kim Mulkey will be operating in the black as long as she is here.
Not true. Uconn wbb program loses money. Tenn lost money when they were winning championships under Pat Summitt. The reason why is the lack of tv revenue. Wbb, baseball, softball and gym don't have its own tv deal like football and mbb.

Finebaum is 2-6 so that's not the issue. The guide shows a live SEC Now show from 10:30-1. The LSU game will start at 1.
Edit: To clarify, the game comes on SECN at 1 already in progress.

re: Anyone have experience with getting a hip replacement?
Posted by JustSmokin on 3/11/23 at 8:27 am to Ross
My 88 y/o mom recently had a partial hip replacement (ball portion) after a fall. She spent 2 days in the hospital then a week in a rehab facility. Once home she had physical therapy twice a week. Within a month she was able to get around with her walker, which she used before the fall. It took about another month for her to regain all of her strength.
I was worried she may be in a wheelchair the rest of her life when it happened but she back to her old self. At 57 your mil should do well.

They didn't completely shut him down as I was able to watch all 3 games. I don't know if LHN cares about it or not, but clearly ESPN doesn't. The link I have has been posted here many times.
