3-3-5 and 4-2-5 are very similar. Aranda was really a 3-3 guy but everybody said he was a 3-4 guy. 3-3-5 is just more multiple. Can use a Jack along with a Mike and Will to give mine even looks but can also play a true 3-3 stack with a Mike, Will, and a Sam. Modern college football requires you to be multiple period.

I don't give damn what they run as long as it fits the personnel and works.
Most teams will run a variation of 3-3-5 or 4-2-5 because nearly everyone runs the spread or some form of it.

Whatever scheme he ultimately runs, he needs them to work on tackling first and foremost.

I highly doubt that will be our base but we have at times run 3-3-5. Aranda ran it frequently.

Do we have 5 DBs?
Is this a criticism of his scheme somehow? We ran a 4-2-5 for years and you still need 5 DBs for that

Will be very interesting to see how he incorporates perkins.
Baker will draw up some great pressure looks.
And no, perkins will not rush every down.

3-3-5 with Perkins rover.
Passing downs, DB comes in, Perkins slides down to stand-up end in 4-2-5.

The ink isn't dry and the second guessing and bitchin has started. Gotta love the experts on tRant and our "I know better than the coach" fanbase.

Seems like more of the same - I know it was one game but I wasn’t impressed with their defense at all against us.

How bout Kelly stay the hell away from the defense & let Baker cook!

If he runs a 3-3-5 then he needs a big thumper in the middle — Tacket Curtis might fit the bill. Let Perk and Weeks crash and eat.

They must be counting the DE as a LB when he stands up, which he does often. Otherwise it’s 4-2, just like manny Diaz, his mentor

Ive heard that repeated here, but it looks like mizzou ran a 3-3-5 most of the year
Maybe that’s what got his best 11 on the field. Adaptability is the most important part of any system

As long as we run an attacking defense and not a bend but break defense I am good

Scheme doesn’t matter nearly as much as talent does
