Will LSU ever bring back the gold game in TS?

First memory of our “gold game” was Florida 2009 in Tiger Stadium.
I thought it was an awesome look. Was sort of our version of Penn State’s white out.

Last time I remember us doing it was South Carolina 2012.

How come we never kept that going?

because half our fans didn't participate when we had them

Yeah but I remember them providing gold t-shirts on the seats for a couple of those games.

Did cost cutting get to this?

meh, it was a poor man's version of Penn State's white out. Too may tiger fans worse purple or white.

Seems like it would be very easy for LSU to distribute shirts, towels, pom poms or something to fans for a big game. Not sure why they haven’t done anything like that lately

Because our fans participate at a very low level. I've been in the pmac when they had white shirts on every chair and 20% of the lower bowl were too cool to even put it on

Very few people wear gold anymore. Or did they ever?

It's a dumb idea and NOT a tradition at LSU.

If you're busy waving a pom pom or a towel, you ain't making noise. Also pom poms are lame.

I'm thinking the first gold game was vs Auburn in 2001. LSU sold gold shirts that featured the game and benefitted Oschner Medicine (I'm not sure anymore). 9/11 pushed the game back to later in the season and I remember that mine was already faded some. That's the game after the cigar fiasco and Saban started the game with onside kick because AU got penalty for stomping on the eye at midfield.

I have been to a few, when people participate they can be really neat, I remember once Nick Saban even commented on how cool and impressive one of the Gold Games was when he was here.

But as I commented on the other thread, LSU fans in general are too fricking ignorant to participate and make it work.

I used to like the gold game.

For some reason, LSU fans have never been good at color coordinating the stands.

I don’t know why unless it because we have two main colors.

Other schools have no trouble getting everyone to turn out in their red or blue or whatever.
