There are 12 million reasons he wanted to be HC. He's never given a shite about LSU.

He could have easily made $12M doing what he was doing plus had a great career plus been a superstar in Louisiana.

I don't hate Ed at all. Any man would try to get that job in his shoes. He is now set for life. It isn't his fault, really, that he shouldn't have the job and is in way over his head. I'm sure he really thought he could do it this time. He's just a terrible, terrible HC. Some people are meant to be DLine coaches. I don't blame an incompetent buffoon for being an incompetent buffoon. I blame the person who gave them the position. It is Joe Alleva's fault. He had the power. He had the responsibility. Hate Joe Alleva.

Are all you guys on something today? CEO won 9 games and with a kicker would have won more. We played in a Jan. 1 bowl and should have a top 10 recruiting class. Got a solid coaching staff that will be improved next year. Don't understand the wadded panties until I stop and realize that you just knee jerk don't like the man. Add to that a lack of knowledge and voila we have this thread. Chill, it's all going to be ok.

Ed will not be the most hated man. He is a great man and I haven't met a person that doesn't like his character, however, he is hated as head coach for his actions with the offense and not truly being the "CEO" we were told he would be....

After Herman spurned LSU for Texas, Alleva should have taken a step back and gone down the list of most qualified coaches. Instead, it seems he just got pissed off and said, "Frick it! I'm hiring Orgeron since HE wants the job!"

And even though he wasn't qualified for the position and would never have turned down any contract offered, Alleva threw in a gratuitous $12m buyout.

he had 52 4 and 5 star athletes
a returning senior qb
all sec rb returning
a team littered with future nfl players
the easiest schedule this century(if not longer)
AND HE LOST 4 GAMES.
Next year we have new qb, new rb, new wr all learning a new system because our unqualified coach cant coexist with people.
5 of our 6 sec wins are against teams with at least 6 losses.
8 of our 9 wins are against teams with 6 losses

we just promoted a coach that has spent more time coaching highschool than being a full time oc.

My one question is why does everyone seem to think Ed Orgeron is such a nice guy? By all accounts he seems like an a-hole. Getting snippy when having to field legitimate questions at press conferences, being stubborn as hell (which will be his undoing), throwing players under the bus. He seems to think his shite doesn't stink.

For years, all I heard on this board (and from coaches, ex players and player families) about Da Coach O was that he was a very effective but sleazy recruiter and was not trustworthy. Heard that about him at Miami, Ole Miss, USC.
when he came here, he was re-cast as a new man, reformed from the excesses of the past. He was never considered smart or HC material. For a short time, people chose to forget what they knew...

We dont take being lied to kindly. We have enough politicians in this state... having one as HC is a not what we need.

Les offered him up in 2009. He said no thanks and went with his boy kiffin to Utenn. We got brick instead. also snagged frank and chavis.

If florida had a kicker, would have lost more.

He went 9-4 against a shite schedule. The team was not prepared to start the season.

Yes, wasn't that a "genius" move? As if LSU had to worry about another school poaching Orgeron. I would really like to know what Alleva's line of thinking was there...seriously. When I found out after the Troy debacle that O had a $12 million buyout, I was livid and thought Alleva should have been fired on that alone. How stupid can he be?
