His playing on the field

Or

His crimes off the field.

I’ll hang up and listen.

Considering most have already largely forgotten about his criminal past, I'd say his on the field stuff. I'm not sure anyone could possibly do a better job of rehabbing their image than he did after he did his time.

Poor timing with the question, but reality is, in the long run, people remember the good times in any type of relationship. On the field and recent years supporting his Tigers & university.

He gave back to inmates at Angola, as well, don't forget. He'd go up there and do dental work.

More for on the field, but his actions to rehabilitate himself and finding a way to make a positive contribution to society should be known as well.

That’s a stupid question. Had he not paid his dues and redeemed himself you could ask that. But in America, we get second chances . I bet you got one too, somehow, some way.

On the field. Most young people probably only know about The Return and the Heisman.

If you want to talk shite about the man just go ahead and do it like a real man instead of your not so subtle question.

You realize he was paid by the Dept of Corrections to do that, right? It wasn't volunteer on his part.

Eta: He lived on a farm in West Feliciana Parish about 20 miles from Angola.

Yep, and he died in that position. I think Cain had promoted him over the whole medical department in fact.

Btw, I hate this thread. Let the man RIP and let his legacy live on as it should.

Cain said he reformed the dental department so well that he put him in charge of the whole medical department and he reformed that too. I also read that he did a ton of free work for people that didn't have money to pay. Another guy mentioned how he paid for kids' tuitions that couldn't afford college. They said he helped tons of people who were less fortunate.

Read his book, he did a lot more than just dental work he basically created the dental program there that had been in shambles. He was more afraid of what lsu fans thought of him than they really were. Loved his book.
