He said Burrow hasn’t done jack in pressure situations. He loves Tua and thinks he has performed under pressure.
I haven't seen PTI in several years, but they used to openly admit they didn't watch half the stuff they were talking about. Especially if a game lasted beyond Kornheiser's early bedtime. This is a perfect case in point.

Mac Jones proved that Tua ( while he is talented ) has become a system qb with good talent, and great play caller to do the grunt work. If he was at most any other school he would not be the great Samoan hype he is now.
The whole X' sand O's vs Jimmys and Joes type of thing. It is what saved Les for years. This LSU team this year is one of the first teams where you can truely see the coaches doing work. Not a shot on Les. Loved the man as a genuine, class person, but relied too much on the talent he had year in and year out.

PTI is for entertainment. I personally find Kornheiser very funny. Sucks when he’s not on like today. But I’m not watching the show for deep, insightful sports takes. I don’t watch anything for deep, insightful takes.

Wilbon has said that stats are racist and wants a major rule change every time someone has an injury. This guy is a joke stop watching that communist network.

Wilbon doenst want no white boys getting praise

Wilbon is fighting the same “stats are stupid...I trust my eyes” fight against advanced scouting that the crotchety old baseball scouts lost a DECADE ago.
Ignore. Move along.

The great part is that Burrow can put all of that talk to bed next weekend, even if Tua doesn't play. A good performance (even if it's not great) and win at Bama makes Burrow an absolute legend and the new face of college football.

PTI and SVP are the only two shows worth watching on espn.
But PTI knows nothing about college football.
Give them a pass for ignorance.

I like Wilbon and Tony but they’re both very much east coast pro sports guys. I bet they only talk about college sports because ESPN makes them.

quote:Yeah, this pretty much answers any criticism of how Burrow handles pressure.
Forget that we score on that play; it was 3rd and 17 in a close game on the road, and Texas threw a ton of people at him that play. Looks like 8 guys closing on him, flushed him up into the pocket and to his left, into at BEST an awkward throw.
Even if the WR catches it and falls immediately, it's still a 1st down. As it was, he hit him in stride and allowed for the TD. That has to be one of the best plays of the year, any team.
