Why isn't this considered a RIVALRY?

This game is ALWAYS a down-to-the-wire matchup. It's an edge of your seat thriller nearly every season.
over the last 16 years LSU holds a 11/5 record over Auburn
11 of the last 16 games vs Auburn has been decided by 7 points or Less!
of those 11 games the average final score is:
LSU 18.4 - 17.7 AUBURN
You can't get any tighter than that!
2019 - Even with the Greatest scoring offense in FBS history Auburn still managed to only lose by 3 points
2018 - Last second FG by Cole Tracey
2017 - The comeback of the year (Chark Punt Return)
2016 - The 1 second debacle, Charks TD reversed, we lose
2007 - D.Byrd game winning TD from Flynn at the buzzer
2006 - Missed Pass INT call to Doucet
Meanwhile in the B10 you got OSU beating the crap outta Michigan for like 20 straight years and we keep saying its some sort of Magnificent Rivalry.

Take it to the rant, but LSU-Auburn is a very big rivalry

Love the enthusiasm.
Wrong board.

Because we’ve played rice more than auburn

I agree it's usually a really good game, but I have nothing against Auburn outside of the one Saturday we play each other every year. For a team to be a rival, I have to feel the hatred. I just don't have that for Auburn.

LSU-Auburn is honestly my favorite game on the schedule every year.
It's almost always a big matchup, usually close and exciting, crazy stuff tends to happen, and LSU wins more often than not.

Where have you been? LSU/AU is a very big rivalry.

It’s a rivalry. I hate auburn, tommy tuberville, Brandon Cox, Patrick nix and that damn eagle.

Tuberville cemented my already growing hate for Auburn right here.

this is one of the disappointments with LSU football. We don't have a true rival.
Now that all depends on how you define "rival." Yes, we have emotional, intense, meaningful games every year with Bama, Auburn, and Florida.
But to me, a "rival" is something more - a deep, long-term, emotional dislike or hatred of another team. Usually it's another in-state team or a border-state school. Alabama-Auburn, Georgia-Florida, etc.
Way back (1950-60s) we had Tulane (when they were in the SEC) and Ole Miss, when both of use were national powers. Those were rivals.
So yes, the Bama, Auburn, and Florida games are intense and very important, but I don't think check enough boxes to be labeled a true "rivalry" game.

It is a rivalry, but Alabama will always be Auburn's main rival. Same with Miss. St. and Ole Miss. Sane with Texas A&M and Texas.
We have one main historical rival and we don't play them anymore. It is Tulane.

I know they don't play each other, but that will always be their most hated rival. We have one natural, historical rival, Tulane, and we don't play them either.

Bc we been winning more.
Kinda same reason alabama game is no longer in the spotlight.
But also tuberville left and lsu doesn't have as much hate and animosity.

A true rivalry is when the game is the the most important game Of the season for both teams. LSU is not the most important game for Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Miss State. Conversely, Arkansas and A&M are not the most important games for us. That leaves no matchup where the games is equally important to both schools.
However, we have probably a greater number of intense matchups than just about anyone else with Bama, Auburn, Florida, and A&M. Even Ole Miss and State are pretty intense. Arkansas used to be and may be again.
Auburn is the most continually interesting and entertaining game since the 1980s.

Basically every SEC West game and Florida is a rivalry. They don’t need names.

Growing up in Arkansas when they were still good, that used to be a pretty intense rivalry. Arkansas hates LSU more than any other team, but LSU never really returned that sense of rivalry lol (mostly focused on Bama)

They tried to turn the LSU - R-Kansas game in to a major rivalry, but that was a flop. We have more important things to concentrate on all year than winning The Boot.
As far as I am concerned, LSU - aTm is just another big game in the SEC West.

It is. And a pretty big one at that.
