Yes, and if there is bad weather earlier in the day, being first in line once play resumes is a very good thing.

Look back over the past 39 years and see how often LSU played game 1 in the day. For the people who a true baseball folks - they know the reason why

The weather issue is so far overblown by this point in the season. Every player on all of these teams has played in hot weather before. It’s not the factor that people like to pretend that it is.

I doubt that Oregon State has played in the heat and humidity that they would have seen at 1pm on Friday.

Most hosts in regionals play the second or night game. LSU usually deviates from that and opts for the early game. Tradition?

We’ve played Friday afternoon in every home regional since 2013, I believe. Not sure why this is such a surprise to anyone.
