Why does the media have such a hard on for Lane?

This isn’t anything new. This started a long time ago. There was this narrative that he kept failing up, and I’m not really seeing it. He was on staff for an excellent USC program.

Al Davis hires him to be the youngest NFL HC ever. Davis had done this type of thing before, with Madden, Gruden, and Shanahan. Kiffin goes 4-12 and is let go shortly into his next season. Obviously it wasn’t a success, but the Raiders were in the middle of an absolutely horrible stretch of football that has essentially continued to this day. Kiffin was also given a QB he allegedly didn’t want in Jamarcus.

He takes over Tennessee and goes 7-6. Again, not successful, but still an improvement over the previous year’s team that went 5-7 and lost to Wyoming. If the Rocky Block doesn’t happen, 8-5 with a win over Bama looks decent. He leaves surrounding a cloud of negativity and goes back to USC. At the time, I think that’s a step up. Yes, the SEC was the land of giants, but USC was still in position to compete for a natty, and it’s where he spent a great deal of his time as coach.

I’m not sure you can call two extremely short stints with bad to mediocre programs/franchises legit failures.

I think the rest of his stops plays out how you would expect. He flops at USC, ends up rehabbing as a coordinator under Saban, succeeds at FAU, succeeds at Ole Miss.

Is he quirky? Yes. Does he lie? Sure. Is he a bit out there? Yes. Does he try to take advantage of situations? Yes.

I think you’ll find there’s other coaches that do the same shite. I’m not even a fan of adding these NFL guys, but if we don’t, someone else will. The media wants you to think that he alone is responsible for the downfall of CFB.

To sum it up because journalism and media especially in the last 10 years is lazy and lacks accountability. In the past you lied or posted crap you were discredited and the industry ended you. Now everything moves so fast you post story and by that afternoon it’s old news. No one fact checks or holds anyone accountable because they are on to the next thing. Lane is an easy target because he is so polarizing that people will just read because his name is mentioned. It’s all about clicks not content. That’s why as an LSU fan we just have to say f them and prove them wrong the field. Journalism is dead and these fools are trying to grasp on with whatever little click farming tactics they have.

I believe it's just trendy to hate on Lane and LSU. It's what they all are doing right now. It's kind of ridiculous they are ignoring the other schools.

It’s amazing how many people on here don’t understand why the media gravitates towards Lane. He loves attention. Always has. He’s a polarizing figure. This really isn’t hard to understand at all.

It’s been trendy to hate on Lane for 20 years. It started with him getting the Raiders job. People thought it was an undeserved nepotism hire, and there were other, more qualified and “deserving” candidates that got passed over. The whole “born on 3rd base and thought he hit a triple” thing that turns a lot of people off.

That’s what put the initial bullseye on his back. His antics/decisions have kept it there. Fair or unfair, it’s pretty easy to see why.

A lot of sports media are surprisingly low-T twinks. So they probably literally have a hard-on for him.

I would say that those heavily criticizing Kiffen and ultimately LSU, are the ones looking for the clickbate.

It's like nobody knew what we were getting and just got excited about the games he won at Ole Miss . I'm starting to believe that some of our fans literally only watch/pay attention to what goes on at LSU.

THIS IS ALL PART OF THE LANE KIFFIN EXPERIENCE

And I, for one, AM frickING HERE FOR IT

in what regard is he polarizing about this issue? He's been off social media for month

He has been very honest about what is going on and stated people are uneducated about these cases

he in fact did predict that if the SEC tries to block the judges ruling, "there is going to be a problem"

and that is exactly what the DA from Louisiana said yesterday.

a TRO is legit and will be enforced

He (that DA) was a bit pissed that the NCAA has allowed 91 players from Europe who were paid professions who are now playing college basketball in American while "Americans who are eligible for another season and never got paid professionally by the NFL are now being rejected by the SEC commissioner

he said the commission made a massive mistake in judgement trying to add a rule or penalty after the fact to block a judges order.

the next argument in court to rebuke the conferences will be about consistency and fairness for all athletes

these individuals from 2022 are not getting what everyone has been granted

So, my prediction is the conferences will be forced to accept these players without penalty to the universities or the coaches

5th year is 5th year

Meanwhile Chambliss is enjoying a 6th year, and nobody says a word about it because it was overruled months ago by a judge who attended Ole Miss. Imagine that!

Thus Chambliss never was told to go pound sand, "you have to go to the NFL"

BECAUSE HE CHOSE TO WORK AT LSU!

Since many of you are only 12, you probably don't remember how much the media bitched and clutched their pearls when BK chose to leave ND for LSU.

LSU has always been an outsider blue blood, who refuses to bow to anyone (including BAMA), and anything that goes against the status quo needs to be criticized.

Ya know… if you go on the ESPN app and always look for LSU content, the next time you open the app, you will see a bunch of LSU content. It doesn’t mean that everyone in the news media is constantly writing about LSU.

It’s called an algorithm.
