They are great...and our defense was great. Our bats were not championship. Hats off to making it work to Jay. There were not near the normal number of elite teams this year as in the past. Arkansas was probably the most complete team minus the choke. Think about 23....8 major power teams....lsu has tenn and wake in their side...two really really good teams....better than anything this year

Floyd was pretty damn good too. That would be a series for the ages.

Tell me the pitching matchups for each game first. Because if 25 doesnt pitch off, its hard to pick them

I'd have to give the edge to 23. The ability to hit bombs 1-9 was much greater than the 25 team.

Each team might have 4 hits each but 23 would hit 2 bombs for 4 runs and win 4-2.

I mean the 24 team was decent also although we started conference pretty badly. For us to come out of that abyss and make the finals of SEC tourney and the post season with a regional final on the road, means you must pretty good. They missed hosting a super by 3 outs....prolly would have beaten WVU also and went to the CWS. we were close.

I truly believe the 2023 team sweeps. Honestly, this team was probably the worst of our championship teams. They overachieved though so I think it shows their heart and determination.

Not sure how you can think this. They are last in like none of the categories when comparing championship teams.

I don't know who would win, but the 2023 team was more fun to watch

We averaged more runs/game than a few of our championship teams. It’s a false narrative.

I feel like 2023 was an all around better team just because they could actually hit with power and did. This 2025 team really didn't produce much of anything hitting wise except one inning of putting some runs together each game. It made for pretty boring games. But when you win by strangling the other team and limping your way across the finish line it usually is boring.

It's honestly a testament how good a coach Jay is to have two completely different style teams win it all. Most of baseball is situational. The best teams don't always win or even dominate. But it takes a great General to put the right pieces in play at the right time AND keep it all together especially when your specialty is just getting enough runs to win and strangle teams out.

Both are National Champions and great in their own way of playing.

Not taking away anything from the 25 team but I think in this hypothetical matchup, the pitching is fairly equal but the 23 offense was better and much more consistent

Tommy White would have been in a slump.

Braswell with the sac bunt and sac fly.

Glad they were both LSU teams but '23 was a powerhouse so I think they take the series in a game 3.

Tommy White vs Braswell bat at 3B?

We could do that for every position and give a slight edge to 2025.

Tommy made 13 errors compared to Braswell's 3. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have Tommy. But 2023 Tommy White defense was horrible. His fld% was .859.

Crews > Stanfield

Milam > Thompson
Milam made 5 errors compared to Thompson's 17. Milam also beats him offensively: higher BA, RBI, OBP, SLG, OPS.

Curiel in LF > Pearson/Morgan LF

I'd take Dickinson over Dugas. I'm sure will disagree b/c Dugas is a Louisiana boy that was here for a while. But Dickinson was amazing at 2B and they are very similar offensively.

As good as Morgan was at first, Jones was more than capable at first and put up much better numbers.

One game? I'll take Skenes. 2 out of 3? I'll take 2025 b/c the pitching/defense was so much better.

I don’t know this team might’ve had the best pitching staff of all the 8 natty teams. I know Skenes skews 23, and you can certainly go back to those early 90s teams with some great staffs.

That 23 team was so damn good. They could score runs on demand and that was such a solid lineup.

Well oddly enough, both the 23 and 25 teams averaged 5 runs scored per game throughout their CWS run.

You might want to go back and review those stats. It isn't even close.

2023 stats

2025 stats

2023 had a much better offense. But 2025 had better pitching and defense.

I honestly don't think the question is about skenes vs Kade. It's about Kade vs Lowder. Rhett Lowder held that '23 team scoreless for 7. If you think Anderson is anywhere near as good as Lowder then game 1 of a series between '23 and '25 would be a toss up.

Kade Anderson didn’t pull himself out of a game when his team needed him.
