Bo Rein because of what could have been.

Les Miles is Larry Coker. Inherited great players then slowly destroyed the program
This is false. The 2010-2012 team were all Les and had the same record as the 3 years with “Saban’s” players. If not for Saban, the best coach ever, going to Alabama Les wins at least 1 and maybe 2 more titles. Saban did build LSU, he also had a big band in the decline

Leaving out Dietzel since most of us were not around, but I'd say:
Saban - built the modern program. Get over the hate and thank the man for what has now lasted 18 years and counting.
Arnsparger - Had the program churning in the 80s. After he left, we had 12 years of pretty miserable football until Saban arrived.
McClendon/Miles - Had great 1st and 2nd acts as LSU coach, but the 3rd acts were disappointing and both lost their jobs primarily because they could not measure up to Alabama.

Saban did for LSU and us fans exactly what all us who played HS football in the 70's and 80's always knew was possible. He put a fence around Louisiana, got the best players from the state and won a NC. I waited a long time for that to finally happen. So, in that regard, I'd say Saban. But, sentimentally I'd have to say Cholly Mac. That man put up with some of the most vicious media and fan attacks than any coach I've seen at LSU. And he just kept trying. The game just passed him by. I mean, when Stovall took over after Bo died there was not one football player on the team that could bench press over 400 pounds. LSU didn't have a very good weight training program and it's weight room was a joke. That being said, I really feel like the LSU family was cheated when Bo Rein died. I think he would be people's favorite and I believe he'd of won NC's at LSU.

The original "Lesticles" Mad-Hatter era was amazing.
You never knew what was going to happen on any given play. Those teams were just so much fun to watch.

Bernie Moore. I remember his interesting press conferences. He was a riot.

Two of my favorites are Saban and Arnsbarger for what they did at LSU.
My two least favorites are Saban and Arnsbarger for building two of the biggest dynasties this conference has ever seen at two of our rivals.
Oh what could have been if either had stuck around.

Can’t even answer the question. Saban was even less likable here than he is now.

Les from 2005 - 1/9/2012. That national championship game soured me on Les and I never recovered from it because of just how hard headed he was. He could have been a living legend if he would have just updated the offense. Instead, he was fired in a bad way and left here with most people having a bad taste in their mouth about his coaching ability.
