Kelly took over worse talent. Saban took over a far worse program.
Our facilities and recruiting prowess wasnt up to where they are now.
Lsu wasnt a household name in regards to football prior to saban.

BK, easily. Saban had some pretty good players when he stepped in.

Saban by a lot. The 2 seasons prior to both coaches taking over

Saban- 7-15
Kelly - 11-12 plus all the talent left over and the winning program that’s been in place for 20 years

Probably Saban. LSU now is a national brand with three NC, a much easier sell to turnaround than the middle of the road SEC team that Saban got.

Kellys team was probably worse, but the program is still in better shape, just look at the facilities and support that is around the program.

Kelly has a tougher rebuild but both were tough.

Saban had to change the culture as well and the talent level, while pretty damn good, isn’t what we’re used to today.

But Kelly took on a team with around 40 scholarship players, no accountability, a really poor overall culture, a less forgiving fan base, and a much more difficult SEC schedule

Saban.

How can you say Kelly when lsu has won 3 titles since 2003 and went 15-0 in 2019.

Saban took over in 2000. LSU’s last title in 2000 was 1958.

The way i see it is Kelley can atleast sell recruits and coaches on the prestige of lsu (multiple national and conference titles), 2nd to none facilities, and a track record of producing nfl talent.
Saban had none of that.
Lsu has won 2 sec titles (1 outright )in the previous 30 years before saban.

Saban took over a 3-8 team. The only decent players were Davey, James, Faulk, and Reed. Davey and Reed were unknowns at the time, and Faulk wasn't good enough for the NFL. Y'all are fools if you don't think there are 7 NFL draft picks off this team for the 2023 draft.

Kelly

LSU’s expectations were much lower when Saban took over. I remember everyone geeking over bowl games but now people scoff and any non-new years bowl…

This doesn't make sense grammatically

Yep, we’re a national brand now with 3 titles in hand since then. Not sure on how many pro guys we have now but I think Saban had 19-20 on his first team. How many of those he recruited I’m not sure.
