Obviously not as talented as you thought. Plenty of gaps to fill going into year 3

We'll see soon enough, Lester.

Pre-season number 5 with talent all over the field. Well, this was a monumental miscalculation. The defense has nearly no talent and less coaching.

So was thinking Brian Kelly was a 10 year 100 mill level football coach.

First game in 15-20 years where I had to turn the channel when we were on defense a couple of times. Just couldnt watch that terrible brand of football.

There is a good chance it is worse next year. Difficult to believe.

We can’t get any worse on defense, so I expect us to be better there.

It will hurt losing JD has a first round draft pick. I expect the offense to have some regression as a result. But as Nuss develops the offense will be explosive by the end of the year.

Ok. But the defense is so bad, even with significant improvement they are a bottom tier SEC defense.

And anyone who thinks there won’t be regression on offense is delusional.

It seems very likely that the QB position will be worse.
you have know way of knowing that. Did you think Daniel’s would be one the best In the country after the Florida game last year? Nuss can improve in the off-season if not another QB in the portal will be brought it. Lots of talent QB wise flowing through the portal year in & out.

Not if we don't get rid of our DC. He is an idiot.

He needs to clean house on the defensive side of the ball. Maybe reassign Jimmy Lindsay to an analyst position, but the rest of them need to get their walking papers. If House returns next season, things are gonna get ugly.

Mr. Hopper, I said it seems likely. Does it not? JD is in his 5th year as a starter. Nuss has very little experience by comparison. Maybe Nuss is a quicker study than JD and will do very well, but it is still unlikely he will be better.

Yes I’m counting those guys too. There’s a reason we are recruiting so many of them, it’s a huge position of need. Having a group of DB recruits committed and then 2 of the higher rated ones flipping to other SEC schools isn’t a good thing no matter how you want to spin it.

Last year Nuss and JD were arguably about equal.

Why cant you fathom the possibility that Nuss also develops?

When you start your hypothesis off with an untrue statement

Kelly’s inherited roster was always going to be a multi year projec

Next year is year 3

Kelly has also had the benefit of the portal and elimination of the 25-man limit.

He has not recruited some positions of acute need such as DL.

CB talent isn't looking too hot, either.

And unless we get Underwood, we're going to need a portal QB ASAP, b/c our QB talent is about to fall off a cliff

Hard to see. A step or two back on offense. Recruiting on defense is not so good and appears that Kelly will keep House and Steeples and Cooks
