My comment is about Johnson's decision making. You don't use up a roster spot as a personal favor.

Simpson hit 22 HRs at High Point last year?

He didn't.

I’m sure he is disappointed in his season. But he is a better baseball player than anyone on this board so move on. Piling on a kid is bush league.
Im glad he chose to be a tiger. I’m not shitting on him. He isn’t the reason we sucked this year. That was a team effort. Pulling for him in the future as I think he is a good dude overall

Don’t want to pile on but if you are blaming the pitching staff for its pitching are you not piling on. Pitchers generally do a better job when they can trust the defense behind them including first base, when the first baseman applies a tag to a runner at first when the ball is thrown over. When your offense can be counted on to score some runs. Yorke needs to address his weight immediately if he plans to continue playing.

Is that a prerequisite to post on message boards???

I’m seriously not very sure at all about that. I mean I’m pretty sure there has been or is former LSU baseball players that have posted on here so your statement is probably wrong.

Yes he is a better baseball player than 99.9% of folks on this board. I am holding out the possibility that there may be a few LSU players or MLB players who hang around on here.
If anyone on here played baseball at LSU or at that level, they probably have more class than to blame another player and single him out. It’s a team sport. Our team was not good.

I do not think Yorke will continue playing.
JJ should have addressed his weight with him last summer and fall. So either Yorke was not motivated to get the weight down or there is some individual health issue that prevented it. He should have had the support at LSU to get it down.
He was not the only problem, we did not have a second baseman who was consistent, we did not have a 3rd baseman who was that consistent fielding or hitting, the catchers did not always catch the pitches, the pitchers threw wild pitches, walks, and hit batters, the starting pitchers did not generally get deep into games without issues, there was a lot of things that made this team not that good and it is not all on one player.
At times we had pitchers throwing strikes who were replaced by pitchers who could not throw strikes and would proceed to walk the basis loaded.
It was just a down year all the way around.
How many double plays did we turn this year? Not many.

Then why did he sign him?
Your keen eye for talent knew when he got here he was gonna struggle, right?

If the fans don’t concentrate on next year RIGHT NOW we can not win in 2027.

What Jay saw was a player that could hit DII pitching. He should have selected better.

A guy who had a high BA and was an on base machine who has solid pop. It's not like Yorke was a bad pick up (at the time), just didn't translate. WAC to the SEC is large jump.

Danny Dickinson, Wehiwa Aloy, and Ryan Black seemed to make the jump just fine.

It's not my job to identify talent. It's Johnson's. He gets paid very well for it.
