Not sure if there was interest, but see Jovorskie Lane, Jr committed to Arkansas ('26)
this has baffled me since last year; CJJ was willing to forego an elite in state defender in Mike Ryan for a sub par defender like Reaves.

He has to put in the work cause he couldn't even play INF at JUCO.

I thought I heard there was a portal window for the designated players sometime in the next 30 days. This gives those players a chance to find a new spot before Fall workouts start up.
I agree with this entirely. Larson is a good player and will be a good player if allowed to get in a groove with regular playing time. Texas cleared out the OF with exception of Jonah Williams who will spend a lot of time with Football.

The SEC baseball landscape is a money ball game now. You buy the best roster you can put together which essentially ends up being an All Star/Pick-a-Player caliber team. To get onboard you have to be ok with platooning/match-ups, fighting for innings and sometimes young talent yielding to the paid/senior hired hand. It is what it is... The open checkbook era is underway and this portal season reflects that.

Old and Strong, beats Young and Weak :)

and to add to this...if a guy is picked up in the portal, he is going to pay if he is paid. This goes both ways - to LSU, from LSU. So YES, Larson will have a much clearer path to field than here at LSU.

As for our pre transfers in, you can mark it down they will all be playing. You don't spend that kind of money and not play them. They are employees now.
That is wild. So he will 21 here in a few short months and draft eligible. Gotta be a Monroe thing. LOL.
this is the right take. Everyone does not leave begrudgingly. If the opportunities are going to be limited and players want to get to the field faster they make the decision to move on. Josh Jordan just said in his interview John Eads guys using the portal to better their situation is never looked upon negatively.

On the other hand, if you are trying to leverage more money and negotiate that is different.

CJJ even said on a subsequent interview he never told anyone to leave this year. Those were decisions the players had to make to get themselves in the best position to do what they enjoy PLAY BASEBALL.
I had to look it up...appears he pitched in 1.2 innings over the season. Now that's wild...good on him.
Feel really bad for the kid. He seems like a good dude. Terrible look coming off a championship where you led the team for much of the season with avg and doubles...only to get overlooked.
Worked out for us last year with all of the freshman moving in; If memory serves me right we only lost one that actually moved in and ended up leaving (Fountain).
healthy mixture - some can smash and some with line drive approach.
So true, already starting to see it...the new guy Darder transferring in I believe is a 2019/20 graduate; already has degree and working on Masters.
Free country…. Starting to think the P is for ??
LSU uses the same playbook…this year is exception due to weak portal options and their tampering didn’t work out. Trust, if CJJ could he would. Thankfully, some returners have their spots locked down-anything vacant is going to a portal guy.
can pretty much confirm this...agent weighed option with Ace and they decided to stay put with State matching the offer. Next time baws...
And if he wants to be an every day player he better think twice…
